Class A Bug: Breaking Dawn, Random Dragon Can Break Quest If

Hey nerds, found a show-stopper that I didn't see in the forums so I figured I'd report it:

Build: 1.5.24.0
Platform: PC (win7 x86)
Quest: Breaking Dawn

Description: The player was going through Breaking Dawn and had just acquired Meridia's Beacon. When returning to the shrine, the player placed the beacon and was sent up to see Meridia, as the quest dictates. While up there, the player fits around a bit before speaking to Meridia and spied a dragon flying around below. the player thought this was cool so the player looked at it for a bit, however long a far away dragon can remain interesting, and then decided to go talk to Meridia to get things moving. The Dialogue sequence went on as it normally does but during the tail end of the conversation, the DRAGON SHOWED UP AND CRASHED THE PARTY. SHIIIIIT. The player exited dialogue with Meridia but was not gently placed back on the ground. Instead the player was stuck up in the air with a dragon and Meridia duking it out. The player was unable to attack, as per the mechanics of the cell, the dragon was doing no damage to the player (and evidently not Meridia either) and Meridia was doing this odd move where she would throw herself at the dragon and deal no apparent damage. The player therefor had to reload a save made prior to the event and run through the sequence again lest they be stuck watching a dragon and daedric prince go at it fisticuffs.

Repro steps:
1.) Load tesv PC on build 1.5.24.0
2.) Play through the game, picking up the Quest Breaking Dawn
3.) After acquiring Meridia's Beacon, return to the shrine, make a save, and place the beacon
4.) While in the sky, do not talk to Meridia right away but rather make sure there is a random dragon under the player (if not, reload save until this happens [sorry to whomever has to repro this])
5.) Somehow figure a way to tickle the dragon into flying up to the player and then speak with Meridia
6.) Once the dragon shows up, finish the dialogue sequence
7.) Watch Merida fight a dragon in a surprisingly low octane battle

I would upload my save that's in a broken state but I have no idea where steam hides my save game files these days. I also have screen shots but apparently I'm not allowed to post links? Sup with that??

1. Why did you specify "Breaking Darn" as one of your tags?
2. Dragons don't appear during the dialog with Meridia unless you have mods installed that alter dragons. For this, you need to talk to the mod author.

Even if no mods are involved, how you are describing the repro steps makes this a very unlikely scenario. In all likelihood, the support response to an issue of this nature would be something like "try loading a save from before this encounter and try to avoid purposely disrupting the sequence by provoking nearby dragons."

The first was a typo on my part, sorry (Freudian slip I suppose)! Second, I have no mods. I haven't played the game since patch 3 and the repro steps are exactly what I did to get the encounter to happen (they're vague but then again, it's a odd bug that requires the stars to align to get it to repro). I've done this quest many times and have even watched dragons for hours while perched impossibly atop the world. I've even purposefully tried (unsuccessfully) to get them to come up but there's nothing you can do other than walk around, all attacks and such are disabled. I was not expecting the dragon to show up and like I said, or I guess implied, I was expecting the sequence to end with me being placed back on the ground but instead the dragon encounter broke the sequence and I was stuck up there. Normally, yes I would say "Don't break the game, dummy" but who knows, with the new patch, something could have broken a system that has worked fine in all previous patches as well as GMC (ie: dragons not screwing up the game while in the sky cell). Regardless, I was doing a natural play through of the game, doing nothing more that I had done in the past, and a dragon ruined my special time with Meridia in the sky.

I did reload a save and I'm past the issue, just thought I'd bring it up to the QA/ devs in case it becomes more of an issue/ hints at a larger issue at hand.
