[REQ/WIP] Classic Fallout Death

Have you played Fallout 1 or 2? If you have, you'll recall dying many times. Each time you did, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Upbu3K1cwnI&feature=related on the backdrop of your corpse. Wouldn't you like to hear those same bleak lines when you die playing Fallout: New Vegas? Isn't the Courier's life worth more than a zoomed camera angle and a couple musical notes?

I'm proposing a mini-mod that will replace the current "death music" with one of these lines by Ron Pearlman. To accomplish this, I have extracted ACM files from the original Fallouts, converted them to wav, and then ogg. The next step likely involves scripting and the GECK. Ideally, I would like to alternate the "death music" based on how the player met his or her demise (be it by Radiation, gunfire, etc). I ask you, O Venerable Modding Community, if this is feasible, and most importantly, legal :)

Provided both questions are answered affirmatively, this thread will display all progress on said mini-mod.

maybe I am wrong, but I think taking assets from one game (FO1 or 2, in this case) and using them in another game like New Vegas is not allowed unless said assets are already included in the game...I think.

I do like the idea, but not sure of the legality of it.

That's something which Bethesda has expressly asked us not to do.

You may have to splice together opening/ending slide dialog recordings if they have the right words to get some legal Ron recordings.

it's not about legality, actually. It's a request Bethesda made - - that no other video games have its content ripped and reused for mods. What will happen if he makes this is, he won't be allowed to discuss it here and sites like Nexus won't accept it. I think this thing is DOA.

You can use tools to make it sounds like Ron or if you can, ask Ron to do the voices again. You cannot re-use the asset in the previous games if it is not included already. But you can make a new asset.

What if one were to record his own lines in the style of Ron Pearlman? Technically, is the mod still feasible?
