clearing cache bad idea?

It says on the xbox 360 faq that clearing the cache gets rid of any game updates.. so wouldnt that affect the patch and the dlc that comes with the preorder?

it clears the patch...which you can just re-download when you run the game. not sure about the DLC, but it's been known to cause gliches so i'd get rid of it anyway.

alternatively, you can hold LB, RB, and X while the game is booting to clear the cache without removing the patch or the DLC.

I really would not suggest this at all. When clearing the cache you will remove all patches for all of the games, as you may already know, this can be some what risky if you suddenly loose xbox live. And the new patch does not necessarily cause more glitches, a number of people have been fine with the new patch, I would suggest downloading the patches as the patch will fix some errors reported within the game (otherwise the patch wouldn't have been made) I would then see how you get on with the patch and remove it if problems occur.

In this day and age, no one should be playing games on Xbox 360 without being connected to LIVE. If you lose connection to LIVE, stop playing and fix your connection.

I know a bunch of you are gonna say, "We shouldn't have to be connected to LIVE...blah blah blah", but the truth of the matter is that if you want to have the best play experience possible you need to be connected to LIVE at all times to make sure you have the latest patches and updates.

Before the patch was released I was freezing almost every 30-45 minutes of game time. The game has only froze once since getting the patch.

I'm 100% certain they are working on another patch to be released shortly.

I actually have been playing about 30 hours now with the patch and I havent had any crashes so far.. I did just install the game on the hard drive since the loading times were getting a bit longer.. but if you tried to load a game that was saved with the patch and you were playing the game before you redowloaded it that would cause a major problem I would think..
