Remember in the Fallout universe its a recording of a voice so it would have made sense to be read in such a monotone way.
PS- Roving trader get up is returning, their was a leaked hand cam of 2 videos that show off the beginning of the game (doc mitchell's house)
If the Securitron's voice is recorded as being intentionally bad, like there's some mention later of some B-Movie actor who found himself famous after the bombs dropped, because there were so few surviving A-List stars in the world... and he was employed to do that and commercials or something. Then great, that's funny. It worked. lol If that doesn't get mentioned though, I'm convinced it's just bad voice acting. lol The world won't end if you point out what's bad, y'know, lol. New Vegas is a big kid, following a big brother into school, he can take the hits.
Remember the Wilkes kid in Greyditch? He would start a line and go too far, run out of breath, and then read on, but he lost the tone and made it obvious he was reading. Securitron sounded like that to me. They do it in low budget movies all the time, like they're trying so hard to remember their lines there's something unnatural about the way they deliver them, it just doesn't ring true to you when you watch it. They call that bad acting.
The Fallout 3 outfits, textures, objects etc... I'm happy to see it all make a return, with no exceptions. Better to have a game with all the outfits from FO3 and its EPs included, than a new game with as many or less outfits. So I'm not complaining that it's there. Just pointing out that I didn't see much new in a fairly long walk-through. Just a bunch of areas not at all different from the ones I've been playing in for two years on FO3. The Sims 2 ran for what, five, six years? When they made a promo or a walk-through for an EP they generally did it with the new stuff on show. This isn't an EP, it's a new title.
I'm already sold on New Vegas, lol, they don't have to convince me to buy it. But hovering NPCs stuck in mid-air on a walking loop getting nowhere and the player of a walk-through jerking the screen this way and that leading up to what by today's standard is a fairly jilted melee encounter with the same stiff animation it took me a few hours to get over when I first played Fallout 3 after having played things like BioShock and Assassin's Creed with great mo-capped character animation.... isn't gonna win over many new players in 2010.
Huh, I thought that was intentional. Like a jaded robotic cop going through the motions.
Maybe, I didn't get that from it though. Guess I'll see when I encounter one.
