Clothing Tops/Bottoms

This may be a silly question.

Can clothing in FONV be two piece separates, or is everything a onesey?

I know in OB clothes came in shirts, pants and shoes. It seems in NV they are all one. Jackets come with pants and vice-versa. Even shorts seem to come with flesh colored leotards.

I am well aware that the game will not allow a player to pick separately, but is it possible for a mod to just have one or the other? Say bathing trunks alone or a vest or jacket alone? This would leave the rest of the body bare?

Answer I suspect is no. Not without recreating them all.

Don't think so, if you look in the GECK you don't have a "lowerbody" slot, just a "upperbody" slot that includes lower body part.

It's possible to create a jacket that could be worn over any other clothing item just by not selecting a body placement position (leave it blank) using one of the other relatively unused slots so that the jacket doesn't take the upperbody slot. The backpack slot might be a good choice.

That jacket would however need to be carefully designed so as not to clip into any other clothing item.

The "bare body" is another issue altogether. Without a body mesh replacement the standard male and female bodies come equipped with non-removable underwear.

It can be done, with shirts in the upperbody slot and pants in some other slot. The "Vegas Girl Outfit" mod does something similar- the base outfit uses the upperbody slot, while the jacket add-ons use the nosering slot. You'd have to make new models for each individual piece, however.

Yes but using another slot that is mentioned for other things may cause you to not be able to ware something else you want to have on, cant understand why they haven't done a separate slot for "lowerbody" when they have so many other slots covered?

Thank you all for responding. i really appreciate it.

Unfortunately i am not a modder in that regard. I do content and grammar editing and voice, but not creation.

My concern in this (as a player) is why go to the trouble of using Robert's (which I do) or Breeze's bodies and then not be able to see them. What I couldn't understand is in the clothing and armors I see that only partially cover, why the uncovered part wouldn't let the body show through.

To expand. If a vest were worn in the upper body slot, why don't the lower body, arms and open chest area show? Would the piece have to be slotted for the Nose or Back pack for this to happen?

It seemed as though this was no problem for Oblivion.
