1. Don't bump.

2. Don't expect answers without data:

Basic Hardware Specification Chart (Empty so far)

Processor Manufacturer: AMD / Intel
Processor Name / Type: Athlon X2 / Pentium D / C2D / dual core / quad, etc.
Processor Speed: ?.? Ghz
Operating System / Service Pack: WindowsXP with SP #?, Win7, Vista ?
System RAM: ? ? GBs (MBs, if less than 1024 ? )
Video (GPU) Manufacturer: ATI / Nvidia (only those two are supported, PERIOD, so please answer which of them you have)
Video Card Model: (examples) Radeon HD 6670 / Geforce GTS 450
Video Card Driver Version: Catalyst ?.? / Nforce ??.??
. . (please use the numbers, and dates, *not* the word "latest")
Video display's default screen resolution
Video Card onboard RAM: ? ? ? MBs
Sound Card Manufacturer:
Sound Card Driver IDs:
Sound Card Model:

(And this is only for the raw hardware & driver variations. Potential software conflicts are far more likely to be game play problems, and developers cannot test for all possible program loads.)

haha, it probably is but the graphics look to pefect for a console because everything is nice and smooth, no aliasing at all and the water looks better than vanilla. Looks like a perfectly setup and enhanced screenshot.

Totally found it  That mountain is the throat of the world and this spot is along the north shore of that lake that's basically west of the mountains, found a neat little tomb has been added since that first shot (those things sticking up out the water close by are part of it) and the terrain directly in front of the view is now all shallows without any reeds. I cropped a screenshot down to 1080P:

I gotta admit even if I set the fully rendered trees to 100 and the tree draw distance to over 4K it would not fix that sad looking tree out on the little island there :P I'll just have to settle for heavily modded Skyrim :P

Well there are quite a few shots from that site that are not from the game and they're probably promo shots made prettier in an image editor. There is fog on the mountains but those shots look perfectly blended in for pure promo.

In other words, they are bullshots. :)

Absolutely, just the stone work on that rockwall dead center across from the water is a perfect example of the bullshot for sure (btw great term, I'm keepin' that one)

If the Op isn't getting the Fog...sometimes the game seems to drop things to have smooth play?

I'm not accusing you of that just saying it might be a good idea. The fog is still way off though, it's much nearer and over the trees so the original is clearly setup.

When i first got to this http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee72/camaro_69_327/Skyrim/TESV_2012_01_16_22_24_48_719.png it was raining and I took that...either way the game is gorgeous.

I didn't think you were saying anything... But the mist/fog in the mountains adds so much to the atmosphere...

Bah, OP's hardware can't handle the particular elements of the engine that do transparent stuff like the fog that's all. Aight back to 'match the bullshot!' :P

So this time yah I lined up a little better with the same borders that the pic used and didn't try so hard to keep that little plant in the same view angle, then also disabled the three flauna, trees and grass mods.
http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/201/matchdabullshot2.jpg

Yah at that angle the rock face on the opposite shore looks much more like the pic too, if you look closely you can see some of that fog coming up from that spot in the closer mountain (but its very faint), I have a feeling it was a well timed fog roll-in morning that they caught, roughly at 8:30 game time

They've blended the shoreline.

Anti-Aliasing (to get that you have to use supersample).

Translucency of the water has been altered.

Colour post processed.

Small rocks on the left side.

Probably downscaled like a lot of bullshots are.

So it is like I thought and I cant see the fog since my grapiccard doest provide the needed ressources to show up the fog? They said that the minimal hardware is a GTX 260 or Radeon 4870 -> I got a Radeon 3870 (and I have 30-35 fps outside at full detail!)

Your card should render the fog fine unless it's a driver bug.

Today I switched to the latest official driver from ATI/AMD (11.12) and the issue doesnt seems to be gone. Still I cant see any clouds.
Does anybody have the same or a similar video card and having the same issue?

In the OP you stated....

This is only a 512 meg card and is listed in the medium section on the WIKI. Think the game is not giving the extras because of a few things...

Your limitations...

medium range card with only 512 Ram.
32 bit Vista...Vista will only use 3 GB of your 4 GB of ram.

Try setting your Screen Rez, to a lower number. Set everything to LOW with No AA/AF. Do you get the Clouds then?

If true ....find a happy medium.

Unless there is a specific setting that doesn't render the fog because it turns it off due to performance then it should render. Your system beats a Xbox360 easy in GPU power. All I can think of it that it's a driver bug not rendering the fog, supposed it's volumetric so could have rendering issue on some old GPUs. Your card is fully DX9 compatible so my logic is that it's a driver bug with your line of GPU.

I cant image that this is the reason but I will give it a try. Thank you for that suggestion

Im going to get a new rig anyway

Will let you guys know if it works with lower settings...
