Does the collectors edition also come with the caravan pack or is it only the regular edition?

The caravan pack is a pre-order special for Wal-Mart so any edition bought [at Wal-Mart] will get you the Caravan pack.

However, Wal-Mart is not selling the collector's edition. I tried with them, and they were only selling the regular edition (at least online and at my local store). However GameStop and Amazon.com are selling the Collector's Edition.

Really? crap. I was going to switch to a wallyworld preorder for the instore pickup. thought it'd be fun trying to smuggle the game out giggling past the crowd of angry fallout fans trying to get a copy.

When I pre-ordered it, there wasn't an in store pickup option, but the shipping is only 97 cents with a release day delivery guarantee. It looks like they're sold out of the PC collectors edition though.

Answered my own question. LOL they seem to have updated their site from the last time I checked it. Luckily I already had it preordered just incase.

just checked your links, the local one has an instore pick up option but its not on the site. :/
now I just gotta weigh the bonuses from the caravan/classic pack.

Hate to derail the topic but which one looks better to you guys from an RP point of view, and a buyers point of view?

When I tried pre-ordering with Wal-Mart about three or four weeks ago they hadn't had a collector's edition. Well good to see they have it now. Thanks for correcting me.

I'm curious as to how walmart can be sold out of a pre-order? I just want the game I don't need all the extra junk that comes in the collectors edition, but it looks like I'm gonna have to order that since they are sold out of just the game for ps3

IIRC each store only gets so many copies on release, and they cant sell what they dont have.

They all show not sold in stores under the availability column for me, but it does show my local store address at the top of the page. I guess my local store doesn't do ship to store for pre-orders. That's fine with me since it will be delivered to me on release day, and I won't have to get dressed and go pick it up. I'll just have to patiently await the UPS, FedEX or whoever it will be sent through.

Which pack you end up getting really depends on what kind of character you want to RP. I liked the caravan pack since you play the role of a messenger, it's possible you might have traveled with a caravan. In F3, I always boosted my repair skill because I liked to be able to field repair my own weapons, so the repair kits are a plus. But a messenger is kind of generic, so a wasteland messenger can be any type of character that could be believable with any pre-order pack. I thought of going for the classic pack for the canteen since I plan to play on hardcoe mode, and from a post from one of the devs. here, the canteen from the classic pack will be the only canteen in the game. Since I'm playing on PC, I'm sure someone will make a canteen mod.

I can understand selling out of the CE, since I think there's a limited number of them. Maybe they're showing sold out on the regular version because the promotion with the gift card was limited quantity. Keep checking, it might come back in stock in a day or two without the gift card promo.

DON'T BUY AT WALMART! Walmart is NOT the place to buy games, everyone sells games for less, go to gamestop or futureshop. I know Future shop always sells the games I wanna buy for 10 bucks less.

Dude NV is the same cost EVERYWHERE. Its 50$ for PC and 60 for Xbox/Ps3 regular. Then the collectors edition is PC/XboxPs3 is 70$/80$. Like everywhere its that cost. Walmarts prices are fine.

I'm just pissed they sold out of PC CE. I wanted CE and caravan pack for PC. D: Is there any other way I can get this from another store/company?

WTF are you smoking/drinking?
Checked instore prices a while back, gamestop was selling a new game for $59.99 when wallmart had it for $48.99.
I actually prefer walmart, better customer servies and their employees look like they actually have lives away from the stuff they sell.

lol Oh I am not saying anymore than its a local "Frys Electronics" store near me. I got the orange box the exact day it came out for $19.99 where everyone else was spending up to $49.99 for the game.

But one way to find out check out the paper they had the orange box price of $19.99 listed in their weekly sale. Other than that the store is in Tx but the price is "in store only".

lol well not all stores are great down here. I just like frys because they do promotional things like that with their pc software to get people to come out there and hopefully buy more than just the game.

Which is typically what I do, I go in for the game and end up walking out with a new releaes game, a bluray movie, and a music cd or magazine for under $50.

I went into Walmart a while back, and asked their tech guy about the New Vegas pre orders. He asked me if I meant Madden. I nearly raged. So, I went and ordered at gamestop..

lmfao how [censored] stupid was the guy how can anyone mistake the name "New Vegas" for the name "Madden". I guess thats like the guys I deal with at the part houses trying to tell me an accumulator and receiver drier are the same thing. Funny I always say if their the same thing they wouldnt have different names.

Since I was pretty much even on which pre-order pack I wanted (caravan vs. classic) it came down to price. The price for the PC version CE at Walmart is $69.96, and the price at Gamestop is $69.99. Both charge taxes since they have a retail store in my state. Shipping with guaranteed release day delivery from Walmart was 97 cents. GameStop didn't have release day shipping, but next day shipping was $9.99. Walmart and the caravan pack won my money.

My local LameStop doesn't carry PC games, but I probably could have gone to the store and pre-ordered it from them anyway. But since LameStop isn't supporting my gaming platform, they're not getting my money.

Yeah. I was mad. I was like: "Did I say Madden?" and he said: "I never heard of Fallout.. We probably won't be carrying it."

I'm a nicer person. But, I wanted to beat him with a car antenna..

Sure you were in Walmart and not like, a local Carles Jr. or something? That doesnt sound like something a Walmart employee would say.

Indeed I was in Walmart. Was greeted by an old guy, the smiley faces were everywhere. I am very sure. He was stupid, and was THE tech guy there. Made me annoyed.
