I'm finishing up "revealing the unseen" quest where I have to return to savos and he's blocked out by a magical barrier alongside mirabelle. They get thru and savos confronts arcano which triggers a flash and I awake next to miriam who asks me to find savos. There's no quest marker so I look around the room before exiting to the courtyard where I find savos' body on the floor..this is where I hit a wall. I can't interact with savos' body nor does anyone passing by say anything (including mirabelle). I know this must be a glitch because I've seen arcano wandering the courtyard and he has the normal dialogue options as does mirabelle and everyone else.

My question is does this happen to everyone and if so how to fix? I've tried reloading a previous save and returning but the same thing happens. I wonder if this has anything to do with the dragon that attacked me in the courtyard as I fast traveled to the college...the dragon ended up landing on the walkway and got stuck so I went thru the hall of attainment, went upstairs and outside and finished off the dragon off before entering the hall of elements.

I'm on the xbox so no console commands for me but any advice would be greatly appreciated....also I haven't downloaded any updates yet as I've heard horror stories of them messing up alot more then they fix so I wonder if the updates fixed this bug?

am i the only 1 having this problem? This svcks as i wanted to become arch mage...i love this game but major bugs like this make me hate it equally

Did you try talking to the old guy (can't remember name, the one you started training with at the begining). I vaguely remember talking to him then Mirebelle gives you some items and tells you to go get the Staff of Magnus iirc.

Yup, above poster is right, you should talk to Tolfdir. It can take a while for him to arrive depending where he is in the college when the event triggers.

I've run into this same thing. While trying to loot the dead guy, Tolfdir approached me and advanced it.

It's not a bug, but I thought it was when I too encountered it.

What is supposed to happen is that you are asked to look for the Archmage.
You go outside and see his body lying on the floor (can't be interacted with) and the various mages standing around, a short while later Tofdir should come over and talk to you.

If none of this is happening I suggest you try going back to a previous save (or the one before that) and try retriggering the whole thing again.

thanks for the help but i found tolfdir sitting inside 1 of the halls and talked to him but it's just normal dialogue. I also see that ancano is not within the barrier anymore but wanders around normally..so much for my mage becoming a stronger mage as i've heard you need to complete the college to learn the best conjuration spells

I've even tried doing other college side quests and returning but savos still lies cold on the courtyard with passer-bys making passing comments about the corpse
