Combine ESPs and CK function questions

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 5:28 pm

So I've been tweaking some of the vanilla Destruction spells, and I've been doing each "line" of spells in a seperate ESP file for easy testing and in case tweaks don't work.

But when I release the mod I'd rather just do a single ESP file. So is there any way to combine multiple ESP files (I've got 3 right now) into a single file using the CK? Or is that something thats just plain impossible or requires another program?

Also, is there a way filter your view to show only "changed" entries (or put all the changed entries at the top of the list for example) in the CK? I tried loading only the mod ESP and not Skyrim.esm from the Data menu, but it appears that since the mod uses Skyrim.esm it loads that automatically anyway regardless of whether I check it in the Data window or not.

And lastly, is there a way to "remove" a change from the mod completely? With one of my tweaks, the tweak I implemented ended up not working, so I reverted the values back to the default, but the entry still shows a * in the list, which I assume means the mod is still changing that value. Its changing it to the default, so no actual change, but at the same time I would guess that would cause extra and completely unessicary conflicts with other mods that alter the same value, and if my mod isn't actually changing that value then there's no reason to keep it.

First off, you're going to need something like TESVSnip for cleaning your mod (TESVSnip shows all of your editing records, but I haven't tried using it yet though, so I'm not entirely certain as to what the best way of using TESVSnip for this purpose, I would keep a back-up copy of each ESP file if I were you, as you should be doing anyway), and as for merging ESP files, your also going to need a third party software for that as well, though I'm not entirely sure what is good for merging ESP files for Skyrim yet. Maybe someone else on the forums has more advice on this, but some advice is better than none at all, though.

I use TESsnip to combine my ESP files.

Fallout Mod Manager has a capable TESsnip tool.
