Combined Ultra Mod

Post » Sun Jun 24, 2012 5:57 pm

So, the time seems to have come for Skyrim to get it's own combined Ultra Mod, both for the sake of ease of use and for compatibility. But the question first rings of which mods to select.

There are three popular combat mods to choose from that I know of, Deadly Combat, Heavy Weapons, and Duel. Which one is the best? Which one do people want the most? For that matter which one is the most cross compatible.

The same questions need to be asked of loot/levelled lists, magic overhauls and etc.

What say you guys?

I haven't tried the other two yet; however, as for Deadly Combat, it's compatible the rest of the 50-60 mods I'm using. So far, I haven't needed to use Wrye Bash, BOSS, NMM or anything like FCOM, just the vanilla Skyrim launcher.

Why do we need an 'ultra' mod? Why do we need a skyrim FCOM? Are you going to spend years of your life merging mods like dev_akm did?

Imo, mod-makers should design projects to be a tighter focus and preserve compatibility as much as possible. If you want to edit multiple things, keep the separate focuses in different plugins.

And the other part is just a permissions nightmare. Good luck with that one.

Pretty sure these things have been attempted before -- a "combined ultra mod" sounds a lot like Tytanis, or even SkyRe (No, not Skyrim Real Estate; I mean the other SkyRe). I personally like SkyRe a lot better than Tytanis, but both of them are very iffy even because they're either not modular at all or not modular enough.
