Community Compilation Honor Rules

Post » Sun Jul 10, 2011 2:57 pm

Basically I'd like if we could all add some Honor Rules that we would know to go by.

1. Soldiers Lead the way on the attack.
*deploy a Flash bang upon multiple enemy contacts.
*Use Molotovs only on Escort objectives, but if you have fully upgraded Frags use those and then use the Molotovs on groups of people. The enemy can't go anywhere if their escort target is incaped.
*Use CQC weapons only when it's appropriate just because you're leading the way doesn't mean all Soldiers use a shotgun and Carb-9 (till it gets nerfed)
2. Engineers Priority is to Buff the soldiers before they engage enemies.
*They stay behind soldiers and secure the Flanks with Mines.
*On Offense after you have successfully pushed forward don't push your luck, deploy Turrets to defend the area. Place turrets so that the enemy can see them but also place them in groups, don't place them so that then enemy can just pick them off from a distance. Not only does this effect the enemy morale but Herp-a-Derp more guns = more damage to the enemy.
*Provide Armor for Medics, they are Priority 2 compared to buffing soldiers.
*Provide Weapon buffs to Operatives when appropriate. The start of the game is Priority 3 after a battle is Priority 1.
*Another thing to remember is that on offense sometimes the enemy has a direct route or multiple routes that they can use to block your advance. EX: On CCity after you repair the Crane the enemy has the cat walk which leads to their spawn area, to the left of the Bridge crossing you can see a gap in the container which leads to the enemy spawn as well. Also from the Second story of the Health CP where the Turret is placed facing the bridge there is a series of crates which can either be used by you to bypass the enemies bridge turret to flank the enemy but the enemy can also use this path. Because of this more then one Engineer is required to help keep your CPs and spawn on lockdown.
3. Medics boost soldiers with Faster movement at the start of the game if you're on offense. On Def give it to Engineers so that they can get some turrets up.
*Medics in general should stay in the back behind engineers; remember a Downed medic who can't help himself can't help anyone.
*When a Soldier has to arm a HE charge, when an Engineer has to Defuse a HE charge, when an Engineer needs to Open a safe, repair a bot, or remove a hackbox or even when an Operative is Hacking something it is then that Adrenaline should be applied.
*Priority 1 is to provide a health boost to the Soldiers, they have armor which helps make them more resistant to firearms but with a health boost they may get the extra edge needed to win the firefight.
*Priority 2 is to provide a metabolism boost to Engineers so that they can get back out there and repair their turrets or make turrets.
*Priority 3 is to boost the speed of Operatives after a battle.
4. Operatives Hack the hack box so we can flank the enemy.
*Priority 1 for Operatives is to support our soldiers until the end of the first main firefight of the game. After that stay out of it, operatives have a job like everyone else.
*Priority 1 for Operatives after the first battle is to comms hack the enemy.
*After the Comms hack get a disguise get behind enemy lines and start targeting people.
*Priority 2 is to Target people but eventually you'll be discovered, instead of running randomly in fear or running straight at the enemy to try and cortex bomb them you could easily lead them into an ambush if the engineers did their jobs right. Caltrops + being in range of friendly turrets = a great trap. Not only do you survive but you also get a new comms hack for the team, a new disguise and pride in the fact that your team is competent.
*On defense operatives can imepede the advance of the enemy by using Caltrops, Sticky bombs placed in choke points are also useful.
*Comm hacks are useful in showing which routes the enemies will take.
*If you have a mic are vocal and in disguise you can tell your team what weapons and how many enemies are going where rather then just targeting each enemy individually.

Please feel free to add your own advice/honor rules so that we can have a good online community.

You sir (or ma'am) are probably a competent BRINKer. And express positive teamwork skills!

I recently found out when you give someone adrenaline it also heals them. When a teammate is doing a quick action (i.e. soldiers placing a HE charge) use adrenaline to make them invincible, heal them if they live, and to get that charge on that door. Also when reviving teammates stick (if able) around and help dispose of enemies to aid in their revive process. No sense in wasting a pip on someone who will die seconds later.
