A new Q&A from playstation blog where they confirm, among other things that aren't really new, that there will be 5 Vaults in the Mojave wasteland, and that they already have a plan for future DLC.

:) There's also an awesome piece of concept art. Take a look: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/10/14/your-fallout-new-vegas-ps3-questions-answered-hardcoe-mode-morality-combat-and-more/

Will there be any Vaults to explore in New Vegas? (thanks @LewJ1196)
Yes there are! We have five different Vaults in the game. They serve as unique dungeons, and depending on what path you follow through the main storyline, you may have to venture into one of them to retrieve something.

Do you plan on including many DLC add-ons for Fallout: New Vegas, as Fallout 3 did? (thanks @VGNtertainment)
We’re not really going into specifics on DLC, but we have a plan, and we think it’s a good one. You should hear more about it soon.

We already know about Vault 21, so that leaves 4 other vaults for us to explore around to find. :disguise:

I heard one of the vaults is a weapons vault

The one thing that bugs me is they say that during the main quest you may have to go into a vault to get a certain item I wonder if that is any related to the Hoover Dam and the Package.

Vault 21 and Vault 34 are the only 'confirmed' vaults as far as I know.

Vault 34 being the vault with supposedly large stores of weapons.

The Jungle Vault is probably a different one (my guess is there's a malfunctioning G.E.C.K. within, which has caused the 'jungle')

sounds similar to the mission where you have to go into vault 87 to retreive the geck in FO3.

If it's anything quest related then it might be the courier going into a enclave or BOS inhabited vault to retrieve a key that could be the only way to save the wasteland before it gets flooded, due to the hooverdam leak.

this is just me speculating not sure whats rly gonna happen.

I [censored] agree totally. Release on all three simultaneously or delay. If you dont, discount us for the trouble. Ps3 owner pay just as much as anyone else, love gaming just as much, and invest tons of hours into games as well. Making us wait months after everyone else is a sign of disrespect.

Once again, no continuation once the storyline is complete. Let me guess, the DLC will allow it.

Why oh why can't we just take our OP characters that we have helped to flourish out and kick ass once the main is complete, what the hell is wrong with that concept?
This isn't some linear FPS, it is a freeroam of a massive wasteland and we like to be allowed to continue our discovery of it once the job is done.
So now, once again I have to keep a load of saves in case I unwittingly go past the point of no return and I am forced to restart the game all over again to get to places I haven't been to.

The devs have said the game will warn you ahead of time before you reach the point of no return

Isn't going to make it svck any less when you have hauled your character all the way there through hardcoe and want some quality ass kicking time once the story is done.
Some off us aren't interested in created 200 different characters and RPing the game more different ways than there are days in the week.
Myself and plenty others I imagine, can be quite decisive and have the idea of their character formed in their head and that one character will see them through the story and beyond (when allowed) and will use this character forever more.

The first DLC is going to be another Broken Steel styled rip off to allow you continuance of your game, don't get me wrong as I didn't see it as a rip off as such and enjoyed it but I would have bought it even if my character didn't die at the end of FO3. The thing that pissed me off the most is that I had to wait till it was out as there was no way I was finishing the storyline until I could continue past the original end.
Did Obsidian not learn from Beth's mistake or did some marketing moron realise that after the Broken Steel DLC's success decide it was time to milk us like cows?

I too was upset at not being able to play after the ending but the reasons why (I forget where) the Devs explained that they wanted to concentrate on making an ending that shows all the stuff you did in game. They just did not have enough development time to make a after game implantation so they put their resources into making the main game and the end as cool as possible, plus with a clear warning before the end, we have all the time in the world to explore and save our game before we choose to retire the character, so I am now in support of this decision given the fact I want to play NV sooner rather than wait 10 more years for an “after game” rewarding experience.

I understand that and the fact that they wanted to give a clear ending, probably the same though process as Beth when they made FO3.
But as I myself go through life I make decisions, some large, some small, and see their outcomes unfold in front of me. But my story also continues afterwards. I don't decide to do something then it all ends, unless it involves myself being killed obviously. Would have either been a pretty stupid decision or a moral one and in that case and if I did die I wouldn't even know the aftermath of my decision so it wouldn't matter one hoot anyway.

Stop whining, It's ending and I doubt there's a DLC to change that....

Hardly whining considering the uproar it caused with FO3, surely they could have taken that on board.

The reason for the Uproar was because the ending was crap. No one complains when a FF, Legend of Zelda ends because it tells a story. Fallout has always been about the story.

This
the ending for NV will be epic so I don't have a problem with it, FO3's ending I liked, but it felt that there was so much left to keep doing, why end here? in other words FO3 felt like it ended way too soon, I hope/think that NV will make the ending worth it.

I will keep my fingers crossed that this is the case then.
I was reading through the article and thinking, nice, nice, that should be good. Then "aw crap, not again".

Maybe Vault 11 (is seen in the intro of New Vegas)?

Anyway, good that we have some vaults. No Fallout game feels complete without'em :)

Wrong, so far the list is

Vault 21
Vault 22 (Forest Vault)
Vault ??
Vault ??
Vault ??

Vault 69 is not one of the vaults in game, being Vault 69, it'd be somewhere in the mid-west.
