So I just realized my companion (specifically Boone) completely vanished. I'm not playing hardcoe so he didn't die, I didn't tell him to wait anywhere, and when I talk to Victor in front of Lucky 38 he says something along the lines of "I see you have a friend with you. He has to wait outside, partner." even though he's not with me which leads me to believe this some sort of glitch.
I even went as far as to backtrack where I remember seeing him last, as well as restarting the game.
Reloading a save isn't an option because I'm pretty sure both saves are after he went missing.
Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions for fixing this?

I don't mean to double post but I really need to bump so I get some answers.
The problem is worse than I thought. I decided I'd just try getting a different companion but it won't let me because I somehow still have Boone with me, even though he's nowhere to be found.
If you know something I can do about this please let me know.

he sometimes goes missing for me too but usually shows up if i am in the same area for a while. he just comes running up to me from off in the distance.

He's gone missing like that for me too, but if it wasn't a glitch he would have caught up to me a long time ago.

both my companions are gone and i cant hire any new ones because i never told them to leave... wtf

Tell me about it, I am having the exact same issue with Veronica going missing, on a side note, Veronica became glitchy after adding ED-E to my party as well.

Veronica went missing for me too and I just hit Wait for a couple of days and she appeared behind me suddenly. Anytime she disappears now I do that and she comes back.

Yeah, that didn't work for me.

It got to the point where I became so frustrated that I just started a new character.
