Anybody knows how exactly companion levelling works? I know they level with you. It also seem to me that they level only when they are with you (you did not told them to stay somewhere).

But what if I told them to stay somewhere and I levelled or I am switching between them or I recruited them when on maximum level already? How does their levelling work?

According to one of the Devs they are bugged at moment, and tend to be all over the place. Hopefully it would be fixed and level along with players with the "comprehensive" patch
