Companion Weapon Issue

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 10:26 pm

I recently entered the Tops Casino to confront Benny for the main Quest line. Upon Leaving I noticed my companion, Boone, had lost his rifle. Upon checking my inventory I found that Boone's Hunting Rifle was in my inventory and that there was no way to give it back to him (Even by asking him to trade or by using the companion wheel to open his inventory).

When Boone's rifle is dropped on the ground there is no way to pick it up, the only interaction is the red text Steal with the X button.

I have tried sending Boone home to see if he would get his gun back that way, but to no avail.

I would appreciate any feedback from other players having this problem, whether resolved or unresolved.

Thank You

Exact same problem I had with Veronica, exact same.

I just gave her a new powerfist, and left her outside. I eventually just told all my companions to stay at the lucky 38.

Yeah the best thing to do to avoid this bug/glitch at the moment is to not bring any companions into the casinos where they stripped you.

Happened to me too with Cass. Hopefully this is patched up, because going in/out of casinos with partners is guaranteed to happen with practically everyone who plays this game.

Best advice, unfortunately you may have to do parts of the MQ by telling your companion to wait outside or stay away in general ( back to their location while you progress ). Some of the MQ is simply going to talk to an NPC so the companion won't get too lonely. It's been a highly catalogued error, and hopefully the next patch fixes this.

I dont know abut you guys, but I've been firing my companions every time I went to gamble. However recently I decided to bring Boone into The Tops for all times sake and see if 1.02 fixed this bug. Guess what? It did.
