I was reading the guide and the guide has a full list of random encounters and there's 3 which are suppose to have a group of the companions hunting certain animals in the wild, Has anyone seen this?

I ran into one of the main dudes, maybe farkas and ria near the thalmor embassy. Was very cool.

I saw Farkas, and Ria hunting animals near Falkreath before.

Twas' awesome.

I did once. It was mayhem because there were a group of bandits nearby and it wasn't pretty for the bandits.

Oh really? Do these repeat?

I was up near Nightgate and they were fighting (actually destroying) a frost troll. They told me to go join the companions.

I've seen Vilkas, Farkas and Ria several times in my current game, all over Skyrim. I am not doing the Companions quest with this character, though. When I did the Companions with my previous character I didn't see any of them. My guess is that they roam only if you have not joined the Companions.

That's what I'm thinking as well. On the Khajiit I have that never joined the Companions I've seen those three all over the place. One time Vilkas and Ria were way out past Winterhold.

My Dark Elf on the other hand has only done the Companions and a daedric quest or two but hasn't run into them at all.
