Compatibility?

So here's a few questions for the community at large:1) Does Call of Cthulhu work in Windows 7? Windows 7 was supposed to fix compatibility issues introduced in Vista.2) Does Call of Cthulhu work in Wine? Not sure what kind of compatibility the Linux crowd has.3) Have the Xbox 360 backwards compatibility issues been fixed at all?

I don't know the answer to the first two questions, but the game works on 360, apart from the video in the beginning, which you can possibly look up in youtube if you wanted to give the xbox 360 a go.

Well, it was more about compatibility with OSes that are newer than the game.I've played through the game several times, love it, it's my favourite game. But the fact that it doesn't work in Vista is why I've dualbooted my PC several times over it.Yes, I could just get rid of Vista, but, I'd rather not.

yeah unfortunately we can't predct the interesting and creative ways our games are going to get broken by future OS's, especially on PC, where there is a legion of different drivers and configurations possible, personally I think I am going to sit the vista generation out, stick to Xp till the next one comes out, which recently I've heard is just about halfbaked now, so that should be coming out soon. If you find out about wether it runs on Wine let me know since I am seriously considering Ubuntu as my OS of choice, it is only Photoshop and Max which makes it hard for me to make the transition.

I might be installing Windows 7, so, I might be able to answer that one soon enough as it is. I uninstalled Ubuntu last night (it was an operation done to see the viability of removing Ubuntu without running the recovery manager for Vista, due to a friend's concern but also in part because I was a little annoyed with it). I think in the WineHQ it has a gold rating for Intrepid Ibex (I'm still using 8.1 though, waiting on my 9.0 CD to be delivered -- I don't wanna bother burning it). We'll know soon enough, I suppose.C'est la vie.
