Competitive Gaming

Been watching the progress on this game for a while now, and some what excited, but me and my friends enjoy competitive play for (pc)..

Does this game have potential where it actually takes skill or is it going to be a spam fest.

Considering how this is explicitly team-based, yeah. I could see a very sweet competitive community. I think this could be the new Team Fortress 2

What FPS doesn't have a competitive community? If there's a potential for bragging rights, you can bet there'll be clans facing off one another. The better question is, will Brink have some type of clan support? And if so, to what degree?

There's multiplayer, right?

There's your answer.

As for large-scale competitions...

Probably - it's got the potential to be HUGE competitively if we can get a solid playerbase to start with, and SD play their cards right.

The game focuses on teamplay.
The game doesn't provide ridiculously powerful weapons and/or killstreaks.
The game has a gamemode specifically desigend for competitive gaming - Stopwatch.

I think BRINK has a lot of potential for competitive gaming.

I'm most interested in what sort of competitive level the game will reach! If we start seeing BRINK at LAN, then we know we're in business.

I sure hope so. This game looks like it focuses all around team play (like stated above). And I love how there isnt just one set objective so there should always be action happening somewhere.
