Compiled script not getting added to BSA file.

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 1:53 pm

Today i realized a mod i uploaded is not working correctly for end users because a compiled script did not get packed into the accompanying .bsa. The CK instead packed the source file of the script i edited.

So i reuploaded the mod and hand added the .pex file to the archive during the upload process. Yet despite the compiled script now being in the .bsa archive... it still does not seem to work for users.

It only works for me because i have the actual .pex file in my /scripts/ folder.

How to remedy this?

For now, couldn't you include the .pex file along with instructions on where to place it inside their Skyrim directory?

And how do you do that with steam workshop? Seems all you can do is package your files into bsa's.

yeah you can't really. You'd have to have them download a bsa unpacker. I'm hoping the coming updates will fix the script issues. In the meantime I think it's best to just not use the Workshop for anything like that.

Yeah i might have to remove the mod from Steam Workshop and use Nexus for this mod. Atleast there i can package exactly how it needs to be.
