- The amount of shots it takes to put an enemy into the ground. I'm aware of the shotgun instant kill at close range, but it shouldn't take me around five to eight shots with the AK47 (assault rifle) to the chest and head area to put a shirtless mutant down.
- Constant texture pop-ins are incredibly annoying.
- The driving feels really tacked-on -- it feels like it was added on shortly before release. I can't describe why, but it just feels really incomplete and really poor.
- The lack of story telling. I'm only 3 hours and 25 minutes in, but you given absolutely no story as to what's happening right off the bat and I guess for because John Goodman shot two mutants that gives him the right to make you go over to a whole camp and kill a [censored] load of them by YOURSELF? It just doesn't make sense as to why you're given all these outrageous tasks and you ask little to no questions about anything. I'm aware many games you're considered the 'errand boy' but still.
- The lack of auto-saves (if there is any at all) is incredibly frustrating. I'm aware that I should be more aware of when to save and such, but when you're in the heat of battle and you go from room to room you tend to forget to save.
- The lack of ability to pick up a [censored] gun. Holy [censored], I'm stuck with a shotgun and I'm killing guys with assault rifles, but all I can do is pick up their bullets and allow their guns to simply disappear (I'm referring to the beginning of the game, but still you're unable to pick up people's guns, or I'm simply missing the button sequence to do so)?!
Aside from those complaints, the game's pretty fun. Do I regret buying the game? Quite, but it's not too bad. It seemed to get better the farther I got into it. I remember I told myself I would just rent it from Blockbuster at 10 AM, but instead I bought it at midnight release -- I really should've just rented it and I'm kicking myself in the ass for it. Hopefully the game improves and gets more fun.
