I'd rather them not copy Grand Theft Auto in that regard
I kind of doubt there will be anything substantial besides the achievement, if at all. I don't really want it, because I would prefer to have nothing (excluding pre order packs) to give me a headstart for at least my first 4 playthroughs.
OOo. I like the t-shirt idea! Maybe one that says "What happens in New Vegas, Stays in New Vegas" and on the back a picture of a HUGE mutant with a hammer and the words.. Or Else.....

Erm... The bonus will be hardcoe +1. With this, stimpacks take even longer, health is less on both sides, skill checks are harder, and the eating and drinking meters drains more quickly. (I would actually like this, would make the game even harder.) But hardcoe +2 would just become tedious with all the water and food you'd have to bring.

+1 difficulty would be great. Seems simple to implement as well.

Yes, no? Maybe?
I like this idea.... almost as much as I like your avatar. Nice one, little one!
The bonus for me is the extra challenge and more immersive gameplay. Fallout 3 was too easy after you got to level 3 or 4. Stimpaks were way too common, and hardly anything was a challenge after that. It was more like and interactive movie.

It's funny that you mention the stimpack thing because the last character I loaded had over 600 of them.
I think a shirt with "I survived the Wastelands" for Sony's Home game would be awsome. Red dead redemption did this so why not fallout new vegas. For xbox people maybe a free shirt that says that for the avatar.

And the PC gamers get....? I was under the impression that Bethesda was one of the few companies that DONT screw over the PC gamers.
