So, after completing Dead Money, you get a bunch of caps and a "complimentary voucher" every three days in the dropbox at the Abandoned BOS Bunker.
The voucher is supposed to be redeemable at the Vending Machines for 1000 caps each.

Unfortunately, when I go to the machine, there is no option to get my free caps! Is there something I had to do or still can do to activate the vending machine option to exchange my vouchers.

That's odd; I don't recall there ever saying anything about getting 1000 caps/chips with the voucher. Where did it say that?

That makes me wonder; who is restocking that drop box anyway? :huh:

Sorry, I meant chips. My problem is i have no option to use the vouchers to get ANYTHING, not chips, not caps, nothing.
I still get the 100 chips every drop but I could be getting 1100, if you get my drift.

I have heard others say that there's a "free chips" option you're supposed to have near the "return cigarettes" option.

Sure i got the drift, thats why i mentioned to check the Automated Message from the Sierra Madre at the Terminal....
That should unlock your Voucher Option.

Actually, I have this problem. I can't redeem that thing either. Of course, I had no idea that it was redeemable (is that even a word?) to begin with until I read this thread.

I had the same problem too I had to reload a save just before I completed and ended the Dead Money DLC and left the Sierra Madre and the Villa for good, its because you didn't play any of the Casino Games or gamble enough in the Sierra Madre Casino Floor and win a "complimentary voucher" there first, otherwise the "complimentary voucher" you find deposited in the dropbox at the Abandoned BOS Bunker won't work and you won't get the "free chips" option in the Vending Machine unless you first won a "complimentary voucher" in the Sierra Madre Casino Floor.
You needed to win at least 7500 Sierra Madre Chips to win a "complimentary voucher" from the Sierra Madre Casino before ending the game, I just kept playing the max bet for roulette is 100 chips at a time until I won like 3 or 4 times.

I had surmised as much. My character had a luck of 2 so I didn't do much gambling.
Oh well! Better luck next time. (Literally)

Found out why that's happening.

You're only supposed to get that voucher if you gamble enough (win 7500 chips) in the Sierra Madre Casino. If you reload a previous save from inside the casino and gamble enough to win that amount, then the voucher will function correctly.
