Stealing is bad.

So why are companies allowed to steal my money by having me to buy their unfinished products under threat of legal action? Why are they allowed to steal my time by making me test their game for them? And why are they allowed to steal any potential earnings by not paying me while making me an unpaid member of their Quality Assurance team?

Fraud is bad.

Why did you kill all the fiends in the first place? Disguise, infiltrate and manipulate is the true power of evil unlike the retarted hero who just goes on rampage.

I completely agree with you about the karma system, i mean its ok to kill a powder ganger but if you steal the water next to him you loose karma.

This is a side effect of the fact that you can join so many factions. If you were friendly with that Powder Ganger, you'd be stealing those items from an ally. The problem is that coming up with a reasonable way to have the ownership flags switch depending on your group reputations is kinda tricky.

true, what they should do is flag them all green and make sure they are line of sighted, that way if you are not seen by anyone but god herself then no bad karma should be added.
theres a few places where it makes no sense to have red flagged items, especially in an enemies base etc.

i`m still not sure if bad karma is added at times when it moans at me when i am stealthed and unseen.

but never fear,i have a feeling the modders might just fix it one day.

A karma system for every item only makes sense if a true barter system was implemented because seriously, there's a bag of chips lying on the floor. I'm walking around with 5000 caps and 15 spare guns. The guy isn't going to eat the bag of chips. In fact, no one in the game except apparently NCR Rangers at remote outposts ever eat anything. So how am I going to get those bag of chips? I can't offer him money for the chips. I can't offer to trade him a machine gun for the chips. Apparently, the only way I can get a bag of chips in the game is to travel across the desert to a random town to an official merchant to buy a bag of chips even though there's a poor guy right here with a bag of chips I have more than enough money for.

He's unarmed and malnourished, but don't worry. If I steal his bag of chips, he'll become the bravest man in the world and start taking stuff out of my bags telling me they don't belong to me.
