The people of Megaton became tired of all the Ghouls and Super Mutants of the Captiol Wasteland, so they picked up Megaton, and threw it across the great ol' USA and it fell in the middle of The Strip in New Vegas. Now, the people of Megaton made Jet Packs which flew across the good ol' USA and flew to Megaton (New Vegas). So, that's the story of how Megaton is going to be in New Vegas.
