I am new to QUAKE, and i have a few questions.

1. What is instagib?

2. why is quake 3 so much better that the XBLA version? (not to sound rude, just curious)

Instagib is a game mode where you only have a rail gun, great fun ! And great for practicing your rail-skills :)

Quake Arena Arcade has a lot of potential. But seeing as the developers dropped support for this title, I'm leaning toward Quake Live.

- Bethesda dropped all support (so it seems).
- There's still people who can't access online multiplayer.
- There's still a lot of lag.
- There's still a bunch of bugs and glitches present in the game.
- There's minor differences between how the game plays between Quake Live and Quake Arena Arcade. For example; the Nailgun doesn't ricochet off walls, the Plasma Gun fires slower, and the character speed is bit slower, etc. That's all nitpicking of course.
- Less available game modes to choose from.
- Less maps.
- Less customizations.
- Quake Live is free.

Yeah, the list goes on... I still love QAA but it could be so much better. Lets look at the bright side though!

- Quake for XBLA! :)
- Great graphical update! :)
- Great sound! :)
- New exclusive maps (but to be honest though they're quite bland)! :)
- IT'S QUAKE! :)
- ? :)

All this work they put in the game and then not going to finish it, i don't get it.
Don't these guys want their product to be good ?
Don't they want happy customers who return for another game ?
Dont they wanna make money on some dlc like gamemodes, maps, character upgrades whatever ?
Those who have worked on this port, don't they read this forum and interest in it ?
Man if i made this game i wanted it to be good, do these guys dont want to get praised for their work ?
Do these guys like their work by the way ? I guess not....

Right on!

Honestly, this is quite sad.

We aren't getting answers from Bethesda. Can someone please answer the Quake Arena Arcade community at all? Are you in fact working on a patch to fix some of these issues? Will you be releasing DLC and support the QAA/XBLA community?

Do you care at all?...

Some of us are sending emails to the 'sentuamessage' show on Xbox Live. I advice everyone to do the same! Send your questions to: sentuamessage@hotmail.com and ask if we will be receiving any DLC for this game. It svcks that it has to come down to this, but Bethesda is ignoring their "valued" customers right now. There is absolutely no support!

I have faith in the team though. Lets make this happen, and lets get our frag on! :foodndrink:

On a brighter note we had some good FFA/TDM matches tonight. Everyone was enjoying themselves. Can't wait to get some new maps though. ;)

I actually prefer QAA over QL in some of the gameplay department. First of all, I bump into some hackers at time who thinks they're all cool with their little aim smoothing to help them + wallhack on QL. Secondly, when I'm playing FFA/TDM there are some maps I don't like playing and usually if I'm playing any of those maps, I just screw around or just spectate + also sometimes I have to play like 12 man FFAs on maps like Hell's Gate or Arena Gate due to having no control of the server. Haven't bumped into any cheaters on QAA, most of the maps are solid (although there are some I don't really like-The Ankh (hate this map!) and Cliffside turns me off at times), and I love having the ability to host games since I can control everything.

Other then that, QL is better due to having lesser glitches, lag, having no connection issue, more players, and so on.

It was pretty stupid for them to take out dual since some players prefer to play the game competitively if they want. I pretty much don't care about Clan Arena or Freezetag, but Instagib is good for practicing with your rail shots.
