I was searching the soul cairn inside and out, and I CANNOT for he life of me find any of the books, can someone tell me where they are possibly? My Mage would very much appreciate it. And second question, how on earth do you use those little portals on the ground, i stand on all of them and nothing happens.....

I found one book, died and didn't find it again, so I'm no help their. But it was in one of the skinny buildings, not the main "castle", though for all I know their could be one there also.

I jumped on/in it. But the Quest marker was on it.

They were on little shrines with candles around them. I can't say exactly where because I was lost in that place for hours and everything looks the same to me.

Yeah, apparently all of the books for the new conjuration spells are there, and i found out you can get them when with the dawnguard as well, so i refuse to leave that place until that is found.

they are somewhere around each of the keepers buildings. two of them are candle shrines, the others is a small building thing and its on a pedestal. so search within a small radius around the keeper spots.

Two are at candle alters. Wrathman is next to one. You will see a small building, up a couple steps you'll see a candle alter with no book. facing the alter, look to your left and you will see another small building go in it and the Wrathman book will be on a pedestal at the end of a short entry hall.

Wish I could tell you where in there they are, they are all on Valericas side. When you cross the border to her side run straight up the middle and you find her castle. I picked a direction, right I think, and kept to the border as best I could (tough to do when you come out of a building and don't which way your facing) you'll find them. You'll have no clue when you found them but you will.

I've spent 4 hours in that place with my vamp and Dawnguard dudes, found the books twice and the reaper shards and I still don't know where there are.

I went back down and found 2 on square flat buildings with Wraithmen around them. I also bought one from the Trader ( forgot his name) for 25 soul husk's, I don't know if that book is random as I didn't pick which I wanted, I got Summon Storm Atronach. I'm just going in a circle. Wish the map worked there.

Check out the "lightning attractor's", if you haven't already.

Two are in Buildings. Last one is in some sort of 'graveyard circle' (Easy to find)

As far as the portals go, only the very small ones actually teleport you. The larger ones I guess are just for lighting and decor.

These are randomn and I don't think you can get the new spells that way. He actually gave me a spell I already had... Meh. I only found two of the conjuration spells, both near candles. I'll try and find the third one IF I ever go back to that dreadful place.

Love the new restoration spells though, and that's all that matters since my character is paladin-like.

Actually, few of the big ones do teleport you too.

I've hit the chests under the large floating soul gem's ( if that's what they are ) they drain health. Some of the large circles restore your health faster or at least that's the way it appears to me. I did it twice and it sure looked like my health was going up much faster than normal and the "light" dimmed.
