A Conjurer's Perks Question

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 11:02 am

Playing my summoner character I have stumbled upon a problem with his build. What are the most ESSENTIAL perks I will need from the enchanting and alchemy trees? I know alchemy can come in handy with helpful potions yet sometimes I also feel like I could benefit from poisons considering my extensive use of bound weapons. I also think enchanting would benefit me with empowering my robes and clothes, but on this idk if soul siphon or fire/frost/storm enchanter are useless...

What do you think?

P.S.
I would also appreciate some good enchantment ideas for my clothes if at all possible :P

Enchanting will help you greatly. Since souls are not in a shortage to get, the soul siphon perk is probably not a good investment. In order to get really good enchants on your clothes (like the fortify destruction or some other school), you will need to use the highest level gem and have the Enchanter perk maxed out with the Insightful Enchanter perk. At that point, you can make 4 pieces of gear have a fortify school enchantment and cast those spells from that school for free (-25% each). With the dual enchants perk, you can do this with two schools, meaning that you can cast almost half of the spells in the game for free. At high levels, this becomes essential for a mage character, as your spells don't scale up in damage like weapons do... you need to be able to dish out damage longer, because you can't dish it out harder -- if that makes any sense. :)

The elemental enchant perks are awesome if you play in a way that uses them, i.e., you use enchanted weapons/staves a lot. Also, they help boost your elemental resistance enchants on your clothes/armor, which is nice, but not very necessary if you max out your magic resistance to 85%.

As for alchemy, perhaps somebody can fill you in better than me, because I never use it. :)
