Conjuring could be much more...

Post » Fri Jul 13, 2012 8:30 pm

Im sure you all agree that the amount of things you could conjure in Skyrim was poor. In oblivion, you had literally a hundred things to conjure and now you have about thirty.
Ant ideas on what else should be conjurable in later DLC's?

If the summons had just a little more oomph to them, or if the conjured weapons increased in damage with Conjuration, it could be a viable kill skill.

But, like Destruction, it just doesn't have that oomph overall. Some spells stand out (like the Summon Large Ham Dremora Lord), but overall... meh.

It would be cool to conjure a mammoth or even draugr (not bonemen)
Or Dragon priests without that darned mask
OR!!! Even a dragon, dog, wolve, spriggan and zombie

Well...

Oblivion - 11x Bound spell, 22x Summon + Reanimate. That's 34, not "literally a hundred"
Skyrim - 3x Bound spell, 16x Summon (thralls included), leveled reanimate. Far from "about thirty"

Anyway, I want more bound spells. Every weapon should have a bound version, Bound Shield would be useful as well. As for summons, more daedra! Maybe animals too.
But it should be noted that a lot of magic is done by shouts: you want a dragon? There are two shouts for that.

Conjuration would be perfect for me with Bound Dagger and increase the Dead Thrall spell to level 50. Oblivion had a bunch of bound items I never used. Gauntlets? Helmet? Boots? Am I supposed to conjure each and every piece of gear? Tedious. There should have just been a bound armor spell that gave you a full set. And why would I want to conjure something like a scamp? Meh. Daedroth and Xivilia were cool though.

they should at least have more powerfull summons and having a summoned and conjured dragon so you could have two on your side would be awesome. They could just add more summons so you could have large monsters for hectic battles.

Conjure most forms of daedra and more creatures( like a familiar bear or saber cat) and that bound armor idea sounds sweet and more bound weapons would be nice and this is a far fetched idea: teleportation!

All of the magic schools in skyrim need a lot of boosting, not just conjuration

There were 20 ish summons in oblivion, whilst in skyrim we have 10 ish summons and hundreds of potential enemies we can raise.

But oblivion did have bound armor and weapons, we only have three bound items.

and the leveling for enemies is not well done in my opinion. I can't turn a briar heart into a thrall(the two sword berserker kind) but a bandit marauder who just shot 20+ fireballs(the big exploding ones) can become a thrall(I named him pyro, he didn't die until a revered dragon jumped us).

I wish the reanimated spells weren't broken for me... Everytime I walk through a load screen my reanimated dead dies and I'm unable to lot his ashes. -sigh-

push through until you get dead thrall no turning to ashes upon death.

I hated the enemy levels in oblivion. Eventually every bandit had daedric or glass armour. Skyrim is more realistic. When you eat at a table, you should be able to see the food. But other than that, its a great game. Definately best of 2011!

We need more summon Daedra/Undead spells. There should be a master level conjuration spell that conjures like, 10 skeletons.(it should count as two thralls)

Its cool that you can summon two atronachs, but i agree with the skeleton thing, theyre so weak, but good to distract enemies while you run to take cover to heal

Dug this bad boy up:
Daedra. Not the petty atronachs, real Daedra like:

Clannfear
Scamps
Daedroth
Xivilai
Spider Daedra
Dremora (more at least)

All of these should also be summoned if you have high enough Conjuration.

And all of Oblivions Conjuration spells were truly unique. Like Summon Skeleton, Summon Skeleton Guardian, Summon Skeleton Hero and Summon Skeleton Champion.

My biggest gripe with Conjuration was that it seemed to level so slow. I was spamming summons from level 1 and by level 30 my skill level was a good 20 points behind other skills, some of which I did not use nearly as often.

Usually every time I summon a Daedra to fight with me, I banish him back to Oblivion. Increases your skill, but it's still pretty slow.
