Console commands on console versions

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 8:44 pm

Do you think there will be console commands for the PS3/360 versions because it would be a shame for it to not be there.

I don't understand why they can't put it... :( There was so much fun stuff to do with the console like the testing hall!

Console commands aren't for fun, but for testing purposes. And both the 360/PS3 aren't developing-enabled platforms. So it's unlikely it'll be activated.

I wish they were. I would love to spawn 20 mudcrabs at a tavern to join me in a bar fight.
And scale a daedroth to the size of Dagon so it would be Godzilla size an have it attack all the Altmers (heehee).

All I want is TFC so I can move the camera around to look at my character.

Oh and so I could make storage containers SAFE.

Consoles are not really for having fun and solely to cheat, they are used to test and debug stuff

they are also useful to get around gamebreaking bugs like the vampirism in the ps3 version of oblivion, glarthir being stuck in the chapel also comes to mind.

they could do it like two worlds 2 does it

To open console on PS3 do the following:
Hold down L1 + R1 then while holding it down press sequentially: SELECT then DPAD LEFT then SELECT then DPAD RIGHT. An input box+on-screen keyboard should appear.
After entering your desired command (each should be entered one at a time!!!) accept it with START button.

Xbox360 console-opening combination:
Hold down LB + RB, then while still holding it press and release buttons in the following order: START -> DPAD UP -> START -> DPAD DOWN.
After entering your desired command (each should be entered one at a time!!!) accept it with A button.

===ATTENTION: The commands that start with cam., engine., graph., interface. will NOT disable any achievements or trophies. Commands like god, immortal, create codes, or anything that starts with "ec." WILL disable achievements.===

Two Worlds and Two Worlds 2 had console commands on the xbox 360. I don't understand why Betheseda don't do the same.

I think being able to use a console would make up for not being able to have mods, at least IMO.

I wouldn't want them to be on them. I tend to use as much "cheating" as possible and having the whole console open for my use would ruin my experience of Skyrim fast.. :cheat:

Like said before, the console would let us prevent game-breaking bugs!

If I was on console having a game breaking bug, I'd take awkward over impossible any day.

TBH, I only want access for games like Fallout where many cool unique or cut armors and clothes locked in the data files, and falling into invisible wall pits happens frequently. :sadvaultboy:

I heard there is a mod for that...

People have no self control according to most threads in the Skyrim forum.

I hope so. As someone else said, Two Worlds II did it for both consoles.

Ya well that is Bethesda's fault for neglecting our version of Oblivion. In other words "BETHESDA FIX THE [censored] BUG! I LOVE BEING NEGLECTED. I WANT TO FINISH THAT QUEST!"
Unfortunately not all companies will fix their bugs like this. I would only want it to fix bugs.

Their real use is not for entertainment. But devs know that when they include it in a game its to be used to correct serious problem and whatnot, as well as for fun.
