1.5 constelation and perks issues

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 10:28 pm

Hello! Since 1.5 ( 21.03.) update smithing const. tree is displayed as LOOKOUT FAILED. Same with deflect arrows ( block ). In addition smithing is not going to level up - creating 4 e.g 20 iron daggers that previously gave about 5-3 levels in smithing ( depends on level ); now gives 1 milimeter of smithing progress!!! That makes a game totaly unplayable, as one of the most important skill is broken.

To be clear, I didn't use any mods. Simply game worked good till 1.5.

I suppose there are much more bugs but ain't gonna check it as I'm pissed off enough already.

Hope the DEVs will fix it up soon.

Here's some pics:

That's LOOKUP FAILED, and it means a strings file is broken or missing. Verify the integrity of your steam cache and that should fix it.

As for smithing increases, you can't just farm daggers now. Make some higher level gear if you want to level up, as you won't learn anything by making your 500th iron dagger.

Yep. Experience is granted by the cost of the gear you make.

Making something worht 5000 septums will be worth more XP than something that 's worth 12 septums.

Since when?? We are talking about skyrim not morrowind.. There was never a difference in skyrim what items do u craft - all of them were rising your skill at the same value.
I crafted some steel items - same thing - progress bar moved 1 pixel after making 7 items. Do u expect me to craft daedric stuff at 40 smithing skill? Clearly a bug.

Files Integrity checked - didn't help - lookout failed still there.

What's more - all of my friends are experiencing the same problem. Polish skyrim boards are full of complaining players.

Since 1.5. It was in the notes. You can craft dwarven or orcish or elven or something right? try that.

If you're still getting lookup failed, try deleting the files in Data/Strings/ then verify cache again. If that still doesn't work, could be the Polish version wasn't updated properly :(

This was specifically changed in 1.5. Now, the more skilled and/or valuable items you craft, the more they increase your smithing skill. In other words, no farming iron daggers to get your smithing up to 60+.

Tried with elven stuff - it's max I can craft on that smith level. I spent 5k septims on moonstones and after making loads of elven gloves, helmets progress bar didn't move.
Same as with iron, steel... Check my pics I attached to first post - toon has level 15 and smithing at 40. So plz, don't tell me it's by game design to stuck at low level and not be able to rise smithing at any way....

Backup your saves and make a new toon. See if that fixes it. If it does, it means the new patch doesn't like your saves. If not... then the patch broke your game.

They fixed an exploit in Smithing and now you consider the game "totaly unplayable"?

Actually, he's complaining that Smithing is broken- he gets a sliver of XP no matter WHAT he makes, from iron daggers to Daedric Armor.

Seems I found a solution.
I've downloaded english version via steam and everything is ok. However it doesn't solve the problem, as localizated client is still bugged.

Cheers for all who tried to help me.
