1 copy for PC co-op

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 1:28 am

My husband and I are very interested in playing this game but we dont know how many copies to pre-order.

We are PC gamers whom invest a lot in having lovely graphics. It would be nice to know if we could get by with using only one copy for local co-op. If not then will both of us be able to participate in the pre-order content for each others pre-ordered games? These are questions that I wish Bethesda would release a FAQ for as it will affect how much money we should look at spending.

Thank you to anyone who has answers.

I'm not a Bethesda employee so please do not take these comments as official in any way, shape, or form. However I'd guess you need two copies of the game for PC co-op and I'd guess if you pre-order from different places you'd get the advantages of both pre-order packs when playing together.

sadly (really sadly) i read on these forums that there is no PC split screen. this was the main reason i was into the game once i heard about the inclution of split screen. make sno sense why have it on the consoles and no the PC. how much effort does porting this feature takes???

anyways, since it's only LAN than i guess u would need two copies just like any LAN game.
that's my guess.

Not necessarily. Many LAN-supported games, like Borderlands or Rainbow Six: Las Vegas 2, will let you play on LAN with a single copy. Have both those games on Steam as well and it's still possible.

I don't like split-screen and I have two decent PCs so I prefer to get a game for PC if it only takes one copy for LAN. Would be nice to know BEFORE it comes out though so I know which platform to get it on. I have this problem with lots of games lately.

This has been a question I have been asking on several posts here. Though no direct answer has been given, nor the definition of lan, and if only consoles. Waiting for some sort of answer for a long time now, it has not been directly answered, but finally it has started to be listed under co-optimus as a lan support for pc.

Online support will be no doubt two copies.

I am planning to buy a pre -order based on co-op with family through lan. If this ends up requiring more than one copy to play with family members due to this unclear non answered question, I will just take it back.

I do not work for Bethesda but I am a longtime avid gamer and can gaurentee that you would need to purchase 2 copies of the game, for the sole factor of companies being against Piracy. PC games have required multiple copies since the late 90's early 2000's due to a rise in piracy. Also, I have yet to see a PC Game availble for same PC gaming in co-op at all.
