Could anyone explain how to cast Destruction Spells infinite

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 12:21 am

I can barely kill anything with Destruction because I need to hit every NPC 32 times with Fire Bolt in order to kill them, but I run out at 16.

I read around the internet that it's possible to reduce the cost of all Destruction spells by 100% by enchanting pieces of armor with the "Destruction Spells cost X% less to cast" enchant. I have a slight idea on how to do this, but I need someone to explain it better.

I also read it's possible to have a -100% Destruction Spell Cost ring. This would be amazing if someone knew how to make it.

So... Yeah. Need help.

EDIT: NEW QUESTION

Is it theoretically possible to make a -100% Destruction Spell cast gear piece if you do the following?
  • Enchant Fortify Alchemy Gear.
  • Make Fortify Enchanting Potion.
  • Use the aforementioned mentioned potion to enchant better Fortify Alchemy gear.
  • Make better Fortify Enchanting Potion using the new gear.
  • Rinse and repeat until you are able to make that Destruction piece.

Or am I completely mistaken and there is actually a cap on skill increases in armor?

The reason I'm being such a pest about this is because I'm on console... I think I'd be fine with Destruction if it just didn't use Magicka or at least VERY little of it. That might seem overpowered to you guys but I wouldn't be doing this if spells just hit harder (Also because I don't believe in using potions mid-combat to supplement my Magicka shortage and because I have this inner desire to spam the Fire Ball Spell on people and use the Master Lightning Kamehameha spell to blast a Dragon out of the air as if I am a freakin' boss super saiyan.)

So yeah! Thanks in advance!

Cheats, Hints, and Spoilers forum. There's several threads on various exploits you can do.

Honestly though, I'd just recommend lowering the difficulty. There's no downside to doing so and it lets you find the right setting for your current character's damage output.

The hint section would be a good start.

Just perk your base enchants then advance in the tree to get double effects, then get that perk then you could get two cost reductions or a cost reduction and whatever else you wish.

basically just get your enchanting skill up and get the right perks, and then enchant your jewelry. You can't get 100% destruction from only one item though (if I'm not horribly mistaken)

Read this page: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Enchanting_(Skyrim)

These items can be enchanted to reduce the casting cost ("Fortify Destruction"):

Hood/circlet
Robe/armor
Necklace
Ring

Depending on your skill level in Enchanting, you can create up to 25% Fortify Destruction on each item, reducing the casting cost to zero for Destruction spells (or whatever school of magic you choose.)

Alternatively, you can enchant items with Fortify + Magicka regen, which is helpful when casting from schools that use more of your mana.

You do need the destruction perks + higher level spells to actually make it viable.

My guess would be: Enchant a Head gear, a Chest gear, a Ring, and a Necklace with whatever magic you're focusing on. Also, the perks for the magic you're using. Enchanting and Alchemy need high enough so that when you enchant your gear, all would display "... spells cost 25%(or higher) less to cast." ...use grand soul gems...

Until you get enchanting high enough to put 25% reduction on an item you could play around with alchemy. Make up some mana pots before you go out.

Then you won't get the best. Part of the exploit is making a fortify restoration potion, with all you fortify alchemy kit on. Then take it all off, drink the potion, put your stuff back on, with higher values as fortify alchemy comes under restoration, then make your fortify enchanting potions, take them, then enchant your fortify destruction items. No potions, no exploit.

I meant to say, using potions in the midst of battle to regenerate Magicka in order to supplement my Magicka needs.

So wait, you're telling me it's actually possible to make the No-Magicka-Cost-on-Destruction-Spells Gear Piece?

No, I have two 29% pieces though. And that's with an alchemy of 81, so it can go higher, not sure how much, sorry.

29% is the highest I think.

Ah, thanks for that. Wouldn't use more than two pieces at that level myself anyway, got to keep some challenge.

The fortify restoration exploit make it pretty pointless, as you can get unlimited strong effects, like fortify smithing or enchanting 1000.000%, comparable with the fortify intelligence potions in Morrowind.
Trivial to get casting cost to 0, however you could just as well boost your regeneration so you magic pool refills every second as this would benefit all schools.

Truth be told, you can use 4 pieces of 29% and still not break the game to be honest. Just set strict unofficial rules for your self and dont make anything that regens or costs -100%
