Couple Noob Questions

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:45 am

Ok well I have a few questions that may seem a bit noobish to some, but I'm looking for clarification in a few things.

1.) How do the upgrades for weapons work? - can I just pick up a scope and it can universally be used on any weapon? Or do I have to buy one specific to that gun? Or is it you just put money into one weapon and it has preset upgrade improvements?

2.) Do silencers actually work now? - How do silencers work differently from Fallout 3? Do they actually allow you to sneak around killing people without alerting others? Or is it like the last game where even if you shot one person, everyone immediately knew where you were.

3.) Are there armor upgrades?

4.) Does aiming down the sites actually increase your accuracy? - or is does it just "zoom-in" and help you aim like in Fallout 3? Is there actually more of a bullet spread if you don't aim down the sites?

Again sorry if these questions seem lame, but I would really appreciate it if I could get some answers!

1. The weapon mods are specific, i.e. an extended magazine for an Assault Carbine is shaped differently than one for a Hunting Rifle, so you can't interchange them. They are permanent too, so make sure you're really attached to the gun you're modding.

2. They work pretty much the same way, you probably didn't have Silent Running or some other sneak skill, but make sure it's a one shot kill or else the screams from the victim will alert others, obviously.

3. Not for the player, but by completing quests for your companions they can equip upgraded armor. http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100828013209/fallout/images/thumb/8/82/Raul_the_Ghoul.jpg/588px-Raul_the_Ghoul.jpg, Raul the mechanic starts out in a plain jumpsuit, completing one of his quests will unlock an armor plated jumpsuit, and completing all of them will unlock a Vaquero outfit for him.

4. It seems to increase your accuracy, the only time you get noticeably more spread it when you're running.
