Couple of problems I'm having

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 4:37 pm

Is there a way to level up some of my weapons? Like my Blade of Woe. It's enchantment is so weak and gets drained in three hits because I finished DB quest line rather early on. I know you can level up followers with the Wabbajack trick and was wondering if there is a way to do it with weapons and possibly armor as well.

Another problem I'm having is that I can't upgrade some weapons and armor to Legendary while others I can. This seems to be the case with the most random list of objects too. Most of my daedric artifacts can only be upgraded to flawless while other can be legendary then some of my normal stuff can only be flawless, like leather armor, while other things can be legendary. Again I see no pattern, the game seems to just pick stuff at random to screw me over with.

If anyone can help me that'd be great.

As for the Blade of Woe, no enchantments can be upgraded.

As for Daedric Artifacts, as they lack the perks associated with them in smithing tree that lowers the skill required to upgrade them to a status level, you'll have to either grind alchemy or enchanting to get you to the armour and or weapon status you want.

Well I'm at 95 with my enchanting with one perk left. I assume you mean enchant it to boost the weapon's damage output?

No, enchant some clothes with fortfy smithing and wear it when you improve daedric artifacts or drink fortify smithing potion before you improve them. For a better result, do both at the same time as the fortify smithing effects stack.

Well thank you very much. Now I have to find something with fortify smithing to get the enchant. All I have with that is Notched Pickaxe XD

Make the rounds of the blacksmiths. I usually find that enchant on something at either Warmaiden's or the smith in Riften. Couple times the smith in Markarth has had something.

I actually remembered something called the Forgemaster's Fingers on an Orc in Narzlebur. Going to pickpocket her.

In order to get leather-based armor to Legendary you'll need 4 pieces of +25% Fortify Smithing gear and a powerful Fortify Smithing potion. I can improve leather-based armor past the cap with the aforementioned gear and a +120% Fortify Smithing potion. I do have the Light Armor perks so that helps, but if you don't you can enchant gear with Fortify Light Armor to get past 100 and pass the cap without perks.

Do I absolutely need the potion to get leather armor to Legendary? Or is the four pieces enchanted good enough?

If you're married check with your wife as well. Muiri had some equipment for sale that boosted smithing last time I bothered checking her store.

Another question, should I have all 5 points in Enchanter (The first slot in Enchanting)? I'm guessing yes but not sure if it's exactly needed. If it is then I have some levelling to do.

You probably want to take that to PM - the moderators here are pretty firm about not allowing discussion of that sort of thing.

You'll need a potion, too. It may not have to be quite +120%, but that's what I make with Alchemy 100, all the 'beneficial' perks, and 4 pieces of +25% Fortify Alchemy gear.
