Crafting skill for unarmored assassin

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 9:46 pm

Hey guys, making a new character that's going to be a dual wield assassin who doesn't wear armor, and am trying to decide what crafting skill(s) to take. I'm thinking alchemy will definitely be one, my 2nd decision is if I take smithing along with it, will that break the game too much? Note that I don't plan on powerleveling/exploiting/min-maxing either crafting skill, using potions to enhance crafting skills etc. I enjoy finding my own materials and leveling crafting that way. I'm just thinking smithing might be needed because without armor, I need to be able to do a TON of damage in a short amount of time.

You will be able to craft weapons, but that might be a waste of perks because the perks put into smithing are only for smithing heavy and light armor, and would otherwise be useless because you can generally already find great weapons in the field. However, I will tell you that I am now a master of smithing in light armor and my legendary weapons are SIC!

I am a dual-wield motha[censored]a assassin with light armor and many perks.

Just by curiousity: Why you won't use armor at all? That's a bit hazardous to your health bar since dual wielding does not able you to block.

Light armor would be a nice choice.

But... anyways.. if you want un-armored I would tell you to invest in a mage-assassin. That means..

one-handed, enchanting, sneaking, illusion, alteration, restoration.

Simply for the challenge my friend.

Plus the shrouded dark brotherhood clothes look badass, especially with a katana (mods for that can't come soon enough).

Nice. Interesting challenge, then.

But, actually, you CAN find Katanas... The Blades. You can find a katana early in the game, when talking to a woman.

And in some inn I can't remember the name... A man wields a katana. So, you can kill him and have 2 katanas for dual wielding. =D

Yeah I know, it's just that I can't wait for a mod that gives the option to craft ebony/glass/daedric katanas in the meantime. I'll get the blades one, any idea where the guy in the inn is at all though?

Don't remember. But it's in the INN you find the Chief Orc for the Dark Brotherhood quest. Someone here surely will remember.
