Crafting System Idea

Wouldn't it be cool if, when you upgrade weapons and armor, their appearance changed? To me, it seems pretty lame that a "Legendary" Steel Sword you have looks the same as the crappy bandit's sword

Texture packs work well, but maybe Bethesda could add war paint for swords.

I thought that this would be the case when I started playing Skyrim but I was disappointed. I want a legendary daedric sword to be shinier and have a sleeker look that a usual one.

I'd prefer a larger range of weaponry in general.

Look of crafted items isn't so important. The feel of smithing would be more interesting to have. I'm sad that we have no minigame here which asks players skill to craft and upgrade items. It would be awesome if you may forge same items with lower and better quality depending on your successes on a minigame.

It seems a lot of work to alter everything for each stage of smithing, I'm a bit sceptical. Although it'd be neat!

Yeah, I think a change of texture (with some runes, gold gilding etc) would be enough. Model changes could be saved for the Legendary versions of weapons

I was a bit dissapointed that there is no difference between the weapons. I was hoping that one you made yourself would look a little different.

I agree. A little customisation would go along way, just even paints and dyes. I'd love to see weapon crafting like that in way of the samurai 3, but that's just wishful thinking

I'd like a little customisation options but I don't mind items not changing appearance. What really should be patched is craftable arrows.

That would be A LOT of different textures that need to be made. About 10 per item. And there's like 100 smithable items.

I just wish we had an option to change the color of armor. Maybe you can pick different colored flowers and craft them into a dye at an alchemy station or something.

Yes, but not something really drastic. I don't want an iron dagger morphing into a daedric-looking dagger at legendary.

 I know. I just can't think of another way of implementing dyes for armor lol.
