So I decide to play Skyrim again after a couple long months......downloaded it again via Steam....but I find (to my horror), that I can't play....

Game is fully vanilla so far, haven't added any mod yet.
Only the free DLC high resolution pack.

Games starts normally, I get pass the Bethesda logo and to the main menu, but when I hit new game, bam...crash to desktop.
Ok I try again with minimun settings and windows mode, and no high res pack.....no result
Next try, same as before but with no Anti-Aliasing, No Ani-Filtering, no v-sync.....no result

Any idea on how to solve this issue?

Have you verified the cache to generate new .ini files? I don't think reinstalling the game will replace those, and if your old files have outdated settings then it might be the cause of your crashes.

Yeah I've checked the game cache using steam and no results.
Also the installation was completely fresh, I erased all my saves/settings when I stopped playing (and formated my PC a couple times since then) so I don't have any old settings/saves.
