After weeks with not touching the game on Steam, I tried the game out today, but everytime I press "play" on the Skyrim launcher the game crashes to dektop, I can't even open it. This have never happened before.

I have both enabled and disabled the mods Im using (Faster Vanilla Horses, Main Menu Spinning Skyrim emblem, HighResTexturePack01, HighresTexturePack 02 and Open Cities Skyrim).

I have tried these things:

- The sound fix.
- Verify game cache.
- Reinstalling Skyrim.
- Restarting Steam.
- Restarting computer.

I have Vista 32 Bit, 4 GB RAM, 480 GTX, 3.0 GHz. I can run games like Battlefield 3 on Ultra and The Witcher 2 on Ultra with ubersampling enabled with no lagg.

No you have 32 bit Vista and 3 GB ram.

Try turning all mods off. Remove the DLC. (by uninstalling) See if the Game Starts.
What size 480 is that? IF 2 GB version ..there is your problem.
Ever changed ugrids?....with new INI files it reverted to default (5) Saves wont load.
Can you start a new Game?

This is Skyrim...cant compare to games the do not load an entire world.

I can't get further than the Skyrim launcher. When I try pressing play on the launcher, Skyrim loads up in 1 second and then it crashes back to dekstop.

I'm having a similar problem.

Skyrim worked fine yesterday, but now every time i press play in the launchscreen it freeze immediately on startup,and after about 5 minutes it'll crash to desktop.

Also did the same things as fantomena1, except the re-install ( don't know how + will i keep my safepoints?)
Also disabled all mods, to no avail.

I'm on Windows 7, and i was able to run the game perfectly on highest performance.
