0k that said New vegas was running great till yesterday. Tuesday I got my new Asus 580 vcard & installed it on the same day the new patch came out. Ran the game and everything was fine. It totally blasted my previous SLI setup away. No issues - slow downs or problems @ all. I exited the game & tried AVP in DX11 - ran some benchmarks just to try to sweat the new video card alittle and it came thru like a champ. So I turned the pc off and went to bed. Wednesday I sit down in front of the pc - start it up planning on playing some NV. Windows did a couple small windows updates while I was checking the nexus for some mods that may have been updated with the patch out. Finding nothing I load up the game and it crashed @ the loading screen. Ok so I start off by thinking that maybe there was a mod issue with the new patch & set about checking my mods to make sure the patch didn't cause a conflict - no issues there. Ok so then I think maybe the windows update may have did something..however I've only found basic windows updates...nothing major. So I try to run the game with no mods - same crash. Alright so thats weird. I did a reinstall. Totally vanilla game. Same crash.
Ok so then I test the card thinking I had gotten a dud. Everything else runs totally fine. No issues @ all. Even Oblivion - & Fallout 3 run silky smooth. So I think maybe my CPU overclock was causing a issue. Removed it and still am getting this crash.
So everything was running fine. The game gets patched on the same day I get my new video card - it runs smooth with no issues. I turn it off & now it refuses to load...even the default game with no mods or system changes besides the windows up & video card thats aok.....
Any ideas?
