I can't seem to get to the crash site behind the Airport ( forget which one ). The fence has no openings and I can't seem to jump the rock at the one corner. Is there another route I'm missing?? Thanks.

What crash site?

To enter the Searchlight Airport you need to go through an underpass in the road, but there's not really anything there. I believe it's the far corner of the map.

If you're looking for the crashed Verti-Bird, you need to look more to your South-West from Searchlight Airport.

The crashed verti-bird site contains alittle nod towards fallout 3 with an awsome weapon

Its located near the Test site. Watch out for ghouls and robots! But you'll be pleasantly surprised to find something there.

BTW the crash site isn't in the airport. To get into the airport there is this small car tunnel that you take to get there(right side of the airport). But as far as I know there isn't anything special there & you can't go into the building.

I avoided Searchlight the first time I passed it, didn't have any good anti-rad stuff yet.


When I finally got around to heading back there, I was lv29-30. Came over a hill, saw a Mr. Gutsy, tried to snipe him...... wow, didn't go so well. Got swarmed by half a dozen Hardened Mr. Gutsys and like 5 Hardened Sentry Bots. Not enough pulse mines & grenades in the world to fight those guys in the open.

The airport is not hot like the town is but I don't remember there being anything there except some bugs. There is a impact site that I had trouble finding cause I had to get behind the airport which I finally did but had to travel west a fair bit before being able to head east. I think you have to go through a nuclear test site but I don't recall the rads being too bad. One of the shacks there has a rather sad story for a young lady.
