Crash on startup !

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:22 pm

I just installed the game, but leaves a square logo on startup and then crashes.

I also read a few fixes but have not solved yet: (

this is my configuration:

CPU INTEL I7 2600K
MEM 8GB DDR3 1600MHZ
MAINBOARD GIGABYTE UD4-P67A-B3
VGA CARD NVIDIA GTX480 (270.61 DRIVER VER)
CORSAIR 120GB SSD
S.O. WINDOWS 7 PROFESSIONAL 64BIT
DirectX 11

I disabled the triple buffering in the Nvidia control panel, I run as the game administrator,I checked the cache of the game on Steam;

most do not know 'what to do!!

The triple buffer thing was mostly for AMD/ATI cards, not nVidia. You may want to make sure you're running the latest drivers:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-64bit-270.61-whql-driver.html

When it asks you if you wish to uninstall old drivers first, say yes.

Try running dxsetup. I think it's in the Brink\redist folder. (c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\brink\redist) I'm not at home to verify the path but that should be close. May also consider running the vcredist file that should be there too.

There might be a directx folder instead of redist. I've also heard of someone with a similar issue disabling audio and that worked for him. Even re-enabled it afterwards and it still worked. Checking for updated audio drivers might also help.
