I just got this game today. I had the settings on ultra and it was running fine, after it crashed i moved it down to medium and it still would crash after i received my items from the doctor.

Am i missing a patch or something?

You seem to be missing the most important part of a game playing PC, the discrete graphics CARD added to it to play, made only by AMD or Radeon.

What are the Fallout New Vegas system requirements?

Minimum System Requirements (VGAs corrected for Obsidian stupidity):

* Windows XP/Vista/Win7
* 1GB System RAM (XP)/ 2GB System RAM (Vista)
* 2.0 Ghz Dual Core processor
* Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 256MB RAM
(NVIDIA 6800 "GS" or better/ ATI X1300XT or better)

avoid both the Geforce 6800 SE, and the 6800 XT}
* 10 GBs of free hard drive space

This is the only error that pertains to the game in the event viewer. I imagine its the reason. im trying the boot idea now.

I did a clean boot and started the game. It actually seemed like it was going to work because it was loading longer but crashed with the same error as above.

I know that Roxio used to give FO headaches, not sure if that problem was ever fixed but you could try running the game with Roxio disabled and see what happens.

Problem solved. I checked with the intel website and my drivers were out of date. runs fine now!
