Crashes and freezes

Ok, because it's obvious some people do not pay attention to which sub-forum there's in I will start by noting this is the Playstation 3 subforum.

This is not for PC users or XB360 users. If you're not on the PS3 platform please do not contribute your opinions or advice here. I know you're only trying to be helpful or informative, but the opposite is the affect. You're diluting the usefulness of having platform specific subforms by saying "oh it runs great" and neglecting to notice that you're playing on a non-PS3 platform. By all means consider what I've got to say, and if you're having similar problems please refer to the relative sub forum of your platform for even better and more relevant discussions of your platform.

As I'm sure anyone reading more than a few posts on this sub forum have learned by now the new Fallout: NV on PS3 is full of bugs.

In short my experience has been frustrating to the point of dismay.

I am about 75-80 hours into the game. I started pre patch and I must say they did fix a few issues, but only to make others worse.

I am playing with Wild Wasteland trait turned on, if that matters.

The POST PATCH problems I have encountered (or am still encountering):

In order of frequency (most common to least common)
1. Frame drop in indoor areas, Primary problem zones are Casinos, and Vaults. Smaller indoor environments don't seem to have the problems as often.
2. Frame rate lag all over. Mostly in wastelands with large geography (mountains, large boulders, river areas). Lag recovers but it breaks immersion.
3. Companion and Follow get stuck and lost. Waiting for 24 hours usually resolves issue. I have had to go and find them a few times.
4. Stuttering leading to Hitching. Mostly outdoors. Sometimes if I let the game sit for 10 minutes or so (what I am doing now) it will recover. More often I reboot.
5. Rapid crash on load to wastelands. Mostly from Caravan and NCR camps.
6. Stuck in world. Always when I'm exploring off the beaten path. Moutains, Back side of McCarren, canyon walls@snipers nest.
7. Corruption of save data. System will not "continue" autosave and I have to reload a previous hard save.
8. Corruption of trophy data. Requires 10-20 minutes to load trophy data at start of game. This has happened 2 times now.
9. Enemy mobs stuck in geometry, Fixed by running away long enough.

other problems I've encountered at least once:

Corrupted quest dialog
Corrupted audio (Near Nelson while helping soldiers from Fort Forlorn Hope)
Clipping issues with Deathclaws at Quarry
North Door at Train Tunnel unpickable with 100 lockpick (corrected on reload)
Dead enemies unreachable.
Floating Brahmin at ranch (may have been pre-patch?)

Things fixed by patch:
Less crashes, but still a major problem.
Some quest dialog fixed (no spoilers, techs know what they fixed)
Ed-E new weapon works right.

All in all this is a fun game, but had I known in advance the number of bugs I wouldn't have bought it so soon after release. the game could be more immersive if these bugs were fixed sooner than later.

I only have about 10 hrs into the game and I have had the same problems...I'd like to add one more thing to the list... Sometimes when I encounter an enemy and I will shoot until his health bar is empty and I will continue to fire at him and it has no effect then they will charge at me and kill me with one swing... And they give you the excuse that if you play for 5+ hours you should reboot your machine...I had to reboot mine 5x in 7 hrs...Because my machine kept freezing...I thought they would have addressed this problem after Fallout 3 had this problem...Last game I will ever buy from this company...

My biggest complaint by far is the lockups. It is far worse for me than the original Fallout 3 was.

I did get stuck in the landscape once (in a cave)
Have lost my companions.

In McCarren I can't even go into the tent area. ED-E gets into a pissing match with the soldiers and then the stuttering gets awful and I inevitably lock up.
