Creating a Characters History

Wouldn't it be a good feature if you could create your characters own personal bio and have it not just for show but to actually influence and change the way the game is. Even having pre-maid bios being available would be cool.

The more I think about it the more i realize just how hard that would be to create. I hope the Devs are listening, maybe you can store that idea for a future game haha

My character came from D.C. leaving behind the majority of what he earned, and lost the majority of his resources a long his travels and since he got shot in the head, lost all of his perks and had to be reset.

That's funny, I thought something similar about my own character. It just seemed implausible to me that my character would go from being some no-name Courier to being a "Messiah" in a matter of a few days of shooting raiders and ants. I figured getting shot in the head was probably like when you lose all your weapons and armor upgrades at the beginning of a Metroid game, having to gradually reassemble what you were. I guess this didn't occur to me as much in Fallout 3 because it was as if living in the cloying environment of the Vault was holding back your character from realizing greatness, and moving out into the Capital Wasteland was a turning point in life.

In response to the OP: I actually kind of liked the way that Mass Effect let you choose a history. The histories were brief enough that you could imagine stuff around them, but had enough info that you didn't go in feeling like a complete blank slate. Plus, you could create some interesting characters by playing against their history (e.g., a really nice guy who led a squad to their brutal deaths because that's just what needed to be done). As much as I have enjoyed imagining one character's back story in FNV, it's nice to have the alternative available.

Yeah, I bet a lot of people did that. I did.
I played F3 while waiting for the midnight release, ending with 'Strummer" facing west where the freeway continues on past Girdershade. Blew up that semi and saved in the middle of the explosion. I figured the subsequent journey to California, the easy courier life and the bullet to the head put the PC back to level one. Even that cryptic bit of dialouge in Primm made sense.
'Course, now all my Vegas PCs are mysterious travelers with no past except having visited New Reno at least once (because of the singer in Novac). I'm not a roleplayer, I'm a game player, so I don't construct big backstories for my characters. Not knocking roleplayers, mind you. Whatever you want to do, it's your game now.
