Wrong place anyways. This has nothing to do with support. Also, patience.

Someone mind quoting a dev or gamesas employee or any announcement that clearly stated beginning of January..... swear it only mentioned "January" with no first or last half at all.. just January.

Also taking that just January was mentioned, until we see February 1st, this thread shouldn't even exist.

Gamasutra: So a priority is having your programmers make tools for designers and artists to go crazy. Some studios don't work like that.

Todd Howard: "No, we put a big premium on our editor, which we then ship with the games. It's going to come out again with Skyrim, the Creation Kit. So when it comes to content creation, we just have so much of it that we have to put a lot of development time into the tools, because the game is so big.

We're hoping [the Creation Kit] will be available as a download on launch day. I don't know if I can promise day-one, but it will be very close."

I'm wondering who thinks that 2 months later equates to "very close"?

considering that was stated quite some time ago.... and that it was quite obvious that the game on launch day was as unstable as it was..... i think they had significantly bigger fish to fry...

They announced later that January would be the month.. which we aren't even halfway through yet.

So any offside statements by as you quoted Todd.... quite clearly was a mistake as we didn't receive it November 11th. So the next quoted date was sometime january....

You guys clearly don't play Red Orchestra 2. Our "first day" SDK was released yesterday. The game came out September 13th. You would of been raging.

Creation Kit — Beginning in January? Realy..

Beginning does not mean at the start of January, it just means that we will begin using the CK in January. (Although, I don't believe we will see a Skrim CK anytime soon. My guess is it will be relased on 12-12-12)

well considering the game will have at least a 5 year lifespan, I'd say it is relatively very close.

So whats up? any news?

To be clear, we never stated the beginning of January. The paragraph in our http://www.bethblog.com/2011/12/01/skyrim-what-were-working-on/ reads starts "Beginning in January", not "In the beginning of January..."

Creation Kit — Beginning in January, PC players will be able to download for free the same development tools we used at Bethesda Game Studios to create Skyrim. In tandem with the Creation Kit’s release, we will roll out a new Wiki and videos to help you get started. It also features something we think you’re going to love…

The month is still young. We're still hammering away on the kit and will have information as soon as we're ready. Stay tuned.

It astounds me how many people on this Forum confuse the word "support" with "incessantly [censored] about everything" when it comes to this game.

Will the kit be released together with a patch, or afterwards?

Thanks.

Sounds exactly like what Crytek did.

hmmm. I'm as eager as anyone for the CK, but if they need time to polish it and make sure it's right I can wait.
I know there will be awesome mods and great things done with it, so in a year from now, no one will be up in arms because they had to wait a couple months for something that Bethesda chooses to share with us.

The sense of entitlement and ingratitude some customers have these days astounds me. The CK is gravy and in no way is part of your original $60 purchase (no matter WHAT you think).

Gstaff: Is the Creation Kit tied to the 1.4.x.x update? If so, should we expect the update first?

I certainly wouldn't have bought Oblivion, Fallout 3 or Skyrim if there hadn't been a construction kit. The modding community is what makes these games great for me, amd most of the regulars on these forums.

lol

With all of the "Skyrim is broken". "Skyrim is unfinished". "Skyrim feels like nobody cared" threads going on, people are mincing about when in JAN the CK is coming out, or complaining that it should have been released already

To be honest, I have more faith in the modders to fix this game than I do in Bethesda. I can see why people are getting upset about the Creation Kit delay.

Well I hope it's taking them awhile to release anything because they are reading through a few hundred pages of unofficial bug list threads.

We got one from Pete not even a month ago stating what was going on, so show some patience.

At this point, I just want it to be released so I can stop seeing useless threads like this. Because all it does is bring out the trolls and the people that experienced bugs that ruined their game (because no other game has ever done that before) so they feel the need to vehemently bash Bethesda over and over and over and over again. It's really getting old.

Not enjoying your experience with the game?

Move on and do something else. It's ok, it really is.

A lot of us are actually enjoying this game and can deal with hiccups here and there. There's so much negativity on these boards that it has to be disheartning to the people that busted their asses making this game. Sure, there are some problems, but do you honestly think they're just sitting around laughing counting their money? Of course not.

Also, common sense would tell you that if there was any substantial update news, there would be a new stickied post at the top. Of course, that would be asking too much.

In other words, get ready for disappointment as we're nowhere near ready. That hard to plug it into Steam Workshop hmmm? See how dangerous it is to give vague, standard PR 101 answers to your fans? We might just completely misunderstand you...

It's not that we have to wait. It's that we're being strung along that is causing unhappiness.

"The CK ships with the game"
"Oops, we made a booboo. The CK will only be available shortly after launch."
"Oops we made another booboo. We forgot that all our bases are belonging to Steam and have to integrate the CK with their Workshop. Sometime in January and don't expect to hear from us again until we want to talk to you."
"Oops, we can't make the integration work. So sorry. Just wait." is probably next.

Stop hinting at dates and then retracting. Either tell us when or just tell us you don't have a clue.

When did they say it would ship with the game?

Can't see any other problems - if it ships in janurary then that is soon after release - this is a game that's got a lifespan of about 5 years, a few months after release qualifies as soon.

If nothing other than an absolute cast-iron guarenteed date will do for you, I reccommend taking a break. In the mean time let those of us who like communication as it happens are more than happy to follow the announcements.
