neither platform is capable of running the creation kit

your best hope is if either PSN or XBL adopts a system similar to Steam Workshop (or integrates SW as an app) where you can install user-created mods (they would still have to be created on a PC). i wouldnt hold my breath though, it's probably very unlikely this will ever happen as neither Sony or MS is too friendly on user created content in such a closed system as a game console.

To put things clear. Each time you buy a game for PS3 or XBOX, Sony or Mycrosoft earn a percentage of the sale (indeed they lost money with their consoles in order to earn more meney with the game sales). You may noticed that games tend to be shorter each time. Well, the faster you finish your game the better, as you will bought a new game earlier making them earn more money.

Mycrosoft and Sony won't allow modding ever as that would avoid gamers buying more games for even longer time and I don't know how Zenimax guys can't understand this. Indeed surelly they would preffer games like TES never reaching consoles. I suppose they allowed these games simply because the bad press of not having them on their list of games playable on their plataform, would damage their business further than the loss of money they suppose to them (I have not the data, but considering how they make money, having a popular long lasting game on their plataforms obviously makes them loss money).

I think Zenimax is fooled by the thought that the greater the success their games have on consoles the happier both companies will be with them. Surelly Bethesda's bankrupt wouldn't sadden either of the console selling companies even a bit.

All lincensing issues aside; do you seriously think you could use a full devkit with a controller? Maybe a super lame limited cut down version like many console games have, but never a full kit. The most crucial part of using the CK for me is the keyboard, something that a controller doesn't have. (Some do, but they svck)

Mods on console? Maybe some day.

The devkit? Nope. Never.

It's not happening with the current generation of consoles given neither PS3 nor XBox could handle the CK as it loads much more information at any given time than the game itself. If you want the Creation Kit, get Skyrim on PC.

It would suppose more money for Bethesda\Zenimax, but less money for Microsoft and Sony, as people would be purchasing less games. And Microsoft and Sony are the ones deciding here.

If you take a look at the specs for both systems you'll realise that you've got the same amount of chance to have it run on an iPhone 4s (in other words, none :P)

I'm surprised that this thread has lasted this long...

No, no. Bethesda has already stated that the CK will never go on console. So well that's true, Bethesda has ultimately already decided. :P

Not only can consoles not handle it, but it isn't designed for console, and just wouldn't work even if they could load it all.

I too am surprised... Where are all the mods? O.o

In before the lock. This question / suggestion has been made a thousand, million times. Due to the way Sony and Microsoft have worded their Terms of Service for allowing (or rather, not allowing) user-generated content, it will not happen.

Unfortunately, consoles are not all that well equipped to handle a construction program like the Creation Kit. Also, while Bethesda probably would not mind seeing user-created mods on consoles, Microsoft and Sony simply do not allow it.

As this topic has popped up from time to time and the answer is always the same, I feel it best to close this thread now.
