Crossbows - Dawnguard only? : V

Not sure if this has been asked yet but...all the E3 interviews and comments etc make it seem like Crossbows are only available if you side with the Dawnguard. I hope this is not the case, I'd like to be able to side with the vampires and still have access to crossbows. Can anybody confirm/deny? Comments?

My take on it. Is only Dawnguard can MAKE CROSSBOWS AND THE BOLTS. But vampires can loot them.

only steel confirmed so far but dwemer animation is included in patch 1.5 files

He said Dawnguard is more focused on crafting. So...

I don't see why it would be just for the Dawnguard. I guess it is just their preference in long range attacks.

Daedric Crossbows... That's a mighty interesting reason to join the dawnguard.

Yes. They require opposable thumbs to use, and apparently vampires don't have this. It just flops out of their hands when you try to pick it up from dead Dawnguard.

I heard you can craft bolts though so Im wondering if we can make arrows as well? I hope there is more than one type of crossbow.

Crossbows are practically my favorite part of DLC, because my best character I made him a sneak/archer, so he could really use a fast firing heavy-duty crossbow on his side.
Yeah and since we can craft bolts can we or should we believe we should be able to craft arrows?

I hope you can craft arrows. It wouldn't make sense that you can craft bolts but not arrows.

I think that those that join Dawnguard will get the crossbows right away. But those that join the vampires will have to wait and loot them from a dead Dawnguard member.

What if they did this: You side with the vampires. You kill a Dawnguard guy. You see the crossbow on the ground, but there's no option to pick it up. You go into the inventory of the dead guy, and the crossbow is not there. You cannot get access to it. (Oh, and remember I said what if)

Tod Howard said that you can make Bolts now at blacksmith's forges. It looks like there's going to be different types of blots and crossbows, in the trailer you can see a quiver that looks just like the iron quiver for the Bow.

This is what I fear. A weapon type (that was highly sought after by fans) that forces you into a specific faction to be able to use it would honestly piss me off to the point I don't even buy the DLC.

I guess crossbows are the signature weapon of the Dawnguard, but it would be weird if vampires couldn't loot them.
