Crossbows in Dawnguard : V - Skyrim

Yeah, magic bolts have been confirmed, and I'm halfway positive crafting them has been confirmed as well, so they should be available all around.

disagree personally, if going vamp lord gets you , vamp lord, you can craft bolts, pick up crossbows off dead bodies, pick up dawnguard armor of bodies, a magicall horse.

why go dawnguard? everyone who plays to get the best stuff, which is the mainstream kids, will all go vamp

i remeber todd saying in a interview that the dawnguard is all about the crafting more or less

Dawnguard exclusives:

Castle, armored troll companions, armor types, lycanthropy tree (pretty sure you can't be both vamp lord and werewolf)

Vampire Exclusives:

Vampire lord form, vampire castle.

Both sides can get the new mount, both sides (i'd imagine) can get crossbows, etc.

In a sense dawnguard are actually getting more, But i'd wager it's pretty even.

Neat. I did not know about magical bolts. Here's hoping you do get to craft magical bolts. I wouldn't be too surprised if it was exclusive to dawnguard though.

I'm sure both sides get Arvak, if your referring to the purple flaming zombie horse.

the werewolf tree is not exclusive its both, technically. Cause if you cure vamp lord, you get the chance to contract lyposuctions :tongue:

the armor types both will be able to get if you kill dawngaurd as a vamp. It wouldnt make much sense if the vamps can use the crossbow but not the armor. Other than the the armor troll, everything else is just a pallete swap. (castles)

i knew that both factions get the horse, i was simple putting all the things you get as a vamp, even if both get it

Ok - take away the armor types and the lycanthropy tree from that list of exclusives and you're still 2 exclusives on either side -- basically even. I don't see the issue - I would play dawnguard first easily if my main character wasn't a vampire.

So, I know we are all waiting patiently for Dawnguard to come out, and meanwhile hunting down any information we can scrounge from the interwebs. But there are a couple things I have yet to find out (for sure):

1) Can vampire lords obtain / craft crossbows? (Surely you fight some dawnguard at some point, if they can't be crafted. Everything I've read so far seems to say that the Dawnguard have almost exclusive ownership of crossbows.)

2) I've read that magical bolts for crossbows can be crafted. Can we now craft arrows / magical arrows as well? Wouldn't make sense to be able to craft bolts but not arrows.

If anyone has information on either of these that has a bit of validity, I'd love to know!

could we really enchant arrows and bolts in dawnguard?! That is great news. I was really hoping for that. :biggrin:
