Hi guys,

Ive done some searches around these forums and the net trying to get NV working but am not having any luck.
My game CTDs after the copyright / Bethesda splash screen just before the intro video.
Have tried updating drivers, disabling Nero, turning off read only, excluding fallout in ffdshow etc.

You can use a program called debugdiag (from microsoft) to attach and anolyze the crash if you want.

Download debugdiag.msi (not x64). You can attach the debugger to fallout new vegas (falloutnv.exe) and catch the crash when it happens.
The debugger will create a memory dump and you can anolyze the dump to find out potential issues on your system.

I agree that the chances are extremely high when there is so very much crap being loaded before the game, it is almost certain that something in that mess is going the *HAVE* to be in conflict with Gamebryo, and IMO, until this is remedied, other trouble shooting is a waste of time.

perhaps the silent hill patch will work for you, it fixed the audio problem and video slowdown/stutter on mine. look for silenthill5patch11.zip on google. extract the contents into the Fallout New Vegas folder. this patch fixes the video playback problems, which can include freezing or crashing when videos play.

Works like a charm! Lets hope my game doesnt crash at some other point now!
