As the title says, I'm getting CTDs randomly, anytime and without warning nor error report. I thought it might be a mod I was running, but I've checked all the mods with comments and reviews and none of them have been made by slackers. I've also followed instructions for said mods. Lastly, I've been doing some Googling and I've found TONS of similar cases of random CTDs even by people without any mods!

I understand it could be something to do with the game's built in limited RAM abilities (something obviously brought over to the PC from the consoles), which is laughable coming from someone with 16Gb Ram! I also have an i7 3820 CPU and a GTX580, so power isn't really a problem on my end. I also read that it could be down to Steam. Funny, I've read lots of people who've had CTDs during Autosaves, which I've also had but not always. Sometimes it's just "happened" out of the blue. Again, I've read some people who've suggested it's because it's a console port, where the consoles' limited performance has been unintentionally ported with the game, not taking into account PCs' superior performance.

Any ideas how to stop these really, really annoying CTDs?

So just to be clear, you are crashing to the desktop, and everything is still responsive? Your system is not totally locked up?

Nope, the game works 100% perfect except for the CTDs, which can happen at any time. No error reports, nothing. I can be playing away happily one moment then suddenly the screen disappears and I'm on desktop.

All I can say is we're far from the only ones. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2241857. 26 pages from modded and totally unmodded gamers! After all this time still no cure for the damn things!
